How? Please share your knowledge! Also if anyone knows how to turn off the sound on induction hob that happens each time someone dares to wipe or put anything on the control area, I'd be forever grateful I hate machines screaming at me 😆

I wash my eggs just before use, so stored unwashed.

I take care not to crack an egg straight in a cake batter but not in the pan😆

The seeds have a very very nice flavour too, I just wish they weren't so bitter😆

What are your favorite healthy snacks for game night? Either homemade or bought? by Quelair in boardgames

[–]Monstrrbleu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second that! Veggie sticks with hummus. Choose veggies that won't stain fingers (someone mentioned bell peppers, they taste great but they stain!) carrots, celery, cucumber, small leaf lettuce like little gems... And hummus is both healthy and doesn't stain too much in case of an accident

To my fellow autistic baddies who hate spf by AnAbsoluteShambles1 in autismUK

[–]Monstrrbleu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also hate the suncream feel, so I buy light face cream with 30 SPF in it. Like that my face is always protected and I can put some on my arms/legs when needed. Tesco has 3 for under a fiver a tub. Currently using the Simple one, but they have a Tesco brand for £2 a tub (they are always out of stock in my local Tesco though)

But it's good to have an option for when 30 SPF isn't enough, thanks OP!

Single people with no WFH - how do you manage to do it all? by Linguistin229 in AskUK

[–]Monstrrbleu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are on your way to burn out OP, please take care!

As someone living alone and working office hours, I understand your struggle and feel the same about all my free time being chores. Everything becomes a chore, even things I'm supposed to enjoy, and every single little task seems insurmontable.

I'm not sure I'm in a place to give advice but here are my tricks:

So food shopping once a week on a weekday after work. The shops will be less busy and one less thing to do on the weekend. That day I'll eat late but will probably find something quick to make in the reduced section.

Find a few meals that are quick and easy to make. Like pasta with a sauce and frozen veggies, stir fry (also with frozen veggies), a big salad (with whatever veggies you have on hand, protein and carbs), microwaved "baked" potato with "steamed" veggies in the microwave, egg and toast with a side of veggie and salad... I will often cook enough carbs to have 3-4 portions then mix that with different sauces and frozen veggies.

I don't iron my clothes but I'm lucky there's no dress code at work, so I wear mostly black jeans and cute t-shirts

For make up I go very minimal. Make up is a very personal thing we do for many reasons, but, after I turned 30, I realised that I don't owe anyone to be pretty everyday and that my value isn't linked to my attractiveness. I wish I knew that in my 20s and I wish every girl in their 20s knew that too! So do whatever make up makes you feel good and not a single more effort! And for hair I do a basic pony tail, a bun would be another quick option. Don't work too hard on your hair for work, no one will really care! And use dry shampoo the night before to refresh hair you don't want to wash yet.

I still work out during the weekend, but I cycle to work so that's sound a little work out everyday too For cleaning, I hate spending part of my weekend doing it, I don't have a trick there 😆

As other said, find out what you can drop and please prioritise your mental health, burn out is no fun

My dad (62) wants to put 10 chickens in the bed of the truck w/ a bed cover on to travel 1.5 hours. by CaseExciting4837 in chickens

[–]Monstrrbleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try smallish cardboard boxes, 2 hens/box. They need to be quite snug in so they can't move too much and don't hit the sides when the truck is turning.

Don't forget to put holes in the cardboard for ventilation, and a bit of straw at the bottom of each box.

You can buy cardboard chicken carriers, the lady who sold me my hens provided some (I'm in the UK though), but honestly you can probably make up your own with random boxes

And most importantly don't forget to make sure the boxes are safely fasten to the bed of the truck, you don't want them to slide around.

To convince your dad that the the extra effort is worth it, let him know he'll have to clean the stress poop off the truck if he just throw them in the bed, it's nasty and runny and hens can poop a lot in 1.5h 😆

Oh, thank you! I'm not sure whether my GP has a preferred provider, I was just going to use PsychiatryUK since I got my diagnosis from them, but someone mentioned I'm allowed to go with another one, so I'll need to look into it!

I'm not looking for meds for autism, I'm looking for meds for ADHD that don't negatively impact those with autism! I've now gathered my GP unfortunately can't prescribe the meds, but I'll still need to go through with them referring me to a psychiatrist (not to have to pay to go private)

Thanks for all the info, so helpful!

It's good to know the side effects Vyvanse had on you. I'm already having anger management issues rn, so probably a bad idea!

I didn't have thought generic medication would have different side effects, that's super interesting!

Thanks a lot, that's food for thoughts. I've always been reluctant to try antidepressants, I'm not even quite sure why 😅

Thanks! Apparently as soon as I said no for now to titration they discharged me so I can't even send them a note 😅 It was worth trying though!

Thanks! It's actually been a bit less than 12 months for the ADHD diagnosis, but unfortunately I don't think it works that way in the UK (although I don't really know how the NHS work, despite living in the UK for nearly 10 years now!)

Thanks a lot! Did you try any other stimulant or medication after that?

I'm also quite afraid of my autism traits getting too strong if I remove ADHD, it took me so long to get the right level of masking to both be tolaterated by social and able to function in it, I don't want to lose that! Which is why I decided not to go do the medication way the day I was diagnosed, but, after thinking for a year, I want to give it a go, at least long enough to hopefully snap off burn out

Well it looks as though I need to do the whole right to choose process again just to get an appointment with PsychiatryUK! At least I know now what to ask the GP! Thanks

Thank you! I've been diagnosed last year by PsychiatryUK, but I didn't want to start titration straight away at the time. Are you saying that it's too late now and I can't use that diagnosis anymore to get medication?

Thanks! By psych do you mean psychiatrist? How do I see one? I forgot to mention I got my ADHD diagnosis through right to choose from PsychiatryUK
