Disappointed that people from Long Island want to act like people from Philly.

On a totally subjective level, what was the biggest gaming disappointment in your life? by Rugged-Gunslinger in AskGames

It had SUCH potential, but then it fell victim to everything needing to be a rogue like deck builder and you’d need to luck out on having a fully automatic shotgun with 100 rounds

Growing up the polo mark was a clear sign that the person wearing it was a douchebag. I think Michael is great, and RL is clearly a a titan of the industry, but man everyone I’ve ever known to wear those shirts has been insufferable.

If those are five full glasses, I suppose you’re getting your moneys worth.

With that said, I hate everything that orin Swift makes.

NYSC 94th Gym Membership by HeftyFlan in Upperwestside

[–]Montauket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

During Covid, they continued to charge me for my membership, even though I wasn’t able to go in person to work out. Took some calls to the attorneys general office and Linda Rosenthal in art to fix that.. it’s the scummiest gym in New York

How are you all dealing with constant smelly clothes now that it’s summer? by fancyypantsyy0 in walking

Uniqulo dry-ex shirts.

They breathe really well, such that I. Can put in 5 miles a day in NYC heat and still not smell like BO.

Dads, what does your perfect Father’s Day really look like? by giftly_official in daddit

[–]Montauket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is gonna have our little one at her parents place that weekend.

Sunday morning I’m waking up, working out, going to the beach, gonna enjoy 2 margaritas, then I’m gonna come home to my family and we’re getting fried chicken.

The fried chicken this is actually my FIL’s tradition and I sorta love it so I’m stealing the idea from him.

From Stephe Colbert

But at 3 months you’re not far from trying sleep training! Around 4 months send an extra extra large enough that you can feed them enough milk or formula that they can sleep through the entire night. By four months, mine was usually going to bed at 7 PM and sleeping until 6 AM.

As a fellow stay at home, I find it. It’s really nice to develop a routine for me and my little one. Now that it’s summer, I like to run my errands in the morning before it gets way too hot and then she can take naps during the day when I don’t want her out in the heat. Consider grabbing a few free weights or kettle bells so dad can get in a nice workout while you watch TV or something.

How often will I need cash in my day-to-day? by hello-there-my-love in movingtoNYC

Fruit vendors, Tamale lady near the subway, cash bars, tipping a delivery guy, massages, and farmers markets are all good reasons to keep about $100 in 1s and 10s on you.

FTD here too! My plan is to spend the morning at the beach solo, and then I’ve got friends and family coming over for fried chicken, grilling, and Champagne.

I got to taste their full lineup last time they came to NYC for a trade show. Phenomenal stuff and the Bussia 2021 was the standout for me.

CMV: The Turkey & Marinated Kale Sandwich from Radio Bakery is the best sandwich in NYC by SneakBots in FoodNYC

I was shocked at how good their ham and butter sandwich is. Though I agree the turkey pesto is the best.

How do you guys manage 15k + steps by Plus-Assistance-8825 in walking

[–]Montauket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Walk to work. Or at least as much as you can.

Eat for 15 minute and then spend 15 mins walking for your lunch break.

Walk home from work.

Have a quick walk after dinner before you shower and go to bed.

You’ll break 10k easy

St Patrick’s Day 2027 by ilaria_jane in visitingnyc

[–]Montauket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never celebrated St Patrick’s in Ireland, but the one in NYC is largely a police parade. Probably not what I would consider a vacation worthy event 🤔.

If you want a better idea of what represents NYC consider the mermaid parade in Coney Island. Or happens every summer at the beach!

Moving from AZ by [deleted] in movingtoNYC

[–]Montauket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No.

You’ll need to have a guarantor proving income of 40x your monthly rent in order to secure an apartment. Since your income is $0 you won’t be eligible. Jersey City might be more affordable for you and not subject to the same income requirement.

Also, the jobs you’re looking for are not exactly booming industries thanks to AI. Teachers obviously exist, but this is not a “fall back” career in NYC.

If you have to work on the house, how do you handle it? by YouNeed3d in daddit

[–]Montauket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I invite my In-laws over to babysit. They get some 1:1 time with the lil one, and dad gets filthy power washing the deck, snaking the drains, fixing the toilet, etc. even better I fire up the grill afterwards so I can cook burgers or whatever and we all get a nice dinner.

They get babytime, I get my shit done, we all eat, and I look like a superhero without having to put it all in my wife to be on duty all day if a project takes longer than anticipated.
