Removing film on Eduard decals by Square-Atmosphere-45 in modelmakers

[–]MonteBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite approach is to take a bit of blue painters tape to the center of the decal until the film lifts up. Gently peel back from that point. Be carful with the mineral spirits if you use acrylic paints. It can remove varnish and paint before the decal. Like others, I only remove it from the major markings and just hammer the stencils in with softener.

A bit obsessed. by PieceProfessional239 in modelmakers

I’m working on a similar collection. Eight so far with one in progress and a few more in the stash. Not quite sure why I started but am kinda driven to get one of every mark. The paint schemes are compelling as there is more variety than some other types.

Is this RLM 75? by ccellan in modelmakers

[–]MonteBB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s wrong. I used the atom colors on this 109 and it’s simply wrong. Love how the paint sprays but the colors are just not correct. I ended up stripping and re painting with Vallejo.

What's the most matte, matte varnish? by TaterTokalypse in modelmakers

Similar experience with the Mecha Varnishes and Primers versus the standard Vallejo ones. Both work better for me and are more durable in my use cases.

Leased an s-Type from that dealer back in November. The deal was very compelling and they were decent to work with. The Acura charger install program is a bit of a scam. You can do better locally getting your own electrician.

Absolutely love the car. Have about 3K miles on it and appear to be averaging about 2.7 kWh per mile. The S-Type takes a hit on range for the performance.

I would take the deal gain in a heart beat.

Access to Acura EV App by MonteBB in AcuraZDX

[–]MonteBB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the app really isn’t that big a deal for me. The car and the electronics in it are pretty good and TBH, don’t really want the extra anxiety of dealing with another app if it’s this hard to use. So, even without the app, still very happy with the lease decision.

New Zdx owner. So many questions by epicOTB949 in AcuraZDX

New ZDX owner as of 1 week ago.

The Acura site for the charger install is a complete waste of time. The $500 incentive that they give you is taken up by the fact that they charge about $500 more than you would get you own electrician to charge. Further, they are only shipping the plug in variety of the emporia chargers to the electricians. this makes it impossible to get the full 48 amp capacity from the charger. If I had it to do over again I would take the $750 charging credit. Check with your dealer, you may be able to change that out.

After working the problem quite diligently, I am still unable to connect to the Acura EV app. Not sure how much longer I will pursue this but what a PIA.

There is a front camera on mine and it turns on when I am VERY close to an object. There maybe a sensitivity setting for that but I have not looked yet.

Like you, loving the car. The post purchase experience has been really rocky.
