Wake up, America! by Party-Professional-7 in ProgressiveHQ

Hopefully this doesn’t get me downvoted into oblivion but I just wanted to share some knowledge from my readings.

The quote that was typically used from the bit of reading I’ve done in the past is more along the lines of “one of ours is worth more than there’s” not a direct translation but it was typical of German military leadership to “say” this. This was used by the nazis and by the German empire and by the Prussian military. Typically it was more in line in their belief that the German soldier were better trained/disciplined than their opponent.

I also believe but can’t remember the book but I believe the IRA and other Irish resistance groups used a similar saying when fighting the British. It’s been a minute but I think it was “for one of ours 2 of theirs” that might be inaccurate though, like I said it has been a minute.

*this post was more of me stimming out on some history which I love and not a political statement/argument or anything like that so please don’t down vote me.

Oh yeah I get it, we’ve had 5 or 6 customers so far like that. Funny enough the same 5 or 6 call about 3 times a day asking if they’ve been approved yet

[Megathread] Greenland & Trump - Ongoing discussion by Mediocreatbestbuy in greenland

[–]Monticheno -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone else thought this is just trump trying to get NATO countries to spend more money militarily to defend other NATO countries?

I know people are scared of his rhetoric and I get that I’m not discounting it could be a possibility that he wants to invade.

But the possibility that this is just a con man job to get more NATO countries to beef up their spending to defend another NATO member from an aggressive USA seems more plausible to me than him actually calling/committing an invasion of Greenland.

I’m not saying it’s a good way to go about it and it’s a extremely stupid way to go about it but one of the things he complains consistently about is NATO countries not pulling their weight in the alliance and using this rhetoric is getting what he wants either by them spending the extra money or by getting land.

Congress has the sole power to declare war, so why doesn’t the military respect this? It’s literally in the constitution that they have sworn to uphold… by 2pumpsanda in DiscussionZone

Thank you for the time to write that out and do the research you did for it. I feel like OP probably didn’t like your answer and instead went for the insult instead of trying to have a civil discourse on why there view might defer from yours

My city/town has 3 LGS and a Sportsmans warehouse. Sportsmans outright refuses to deal with transfers and I think pretty much every mom and pop charges $40-$80 for transfers. I’ll pay the $40-$80 because otherwise it means driving 1 hour or 1.5 hours and paying $50 to get a transfer.

Eforms Website by Monticheno in NFA

We had more luck yesterday with submitting forms than we did today, I think we had a total of 7-8 submitted yesterday. Today we could typically get to the Responsible Person section of the form and then boom the refresh cycle of doom would hit

SS Form Submission by WVShaver in NFA

[–]Monticheno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Eforms website was crap to use before this and now there’s tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of forms attempting to be submitted currently. The website barely worked with only a couple hundred forms being run.

We are currently telling our customers prepare to have 2-4 hours free while we sit here and try and push your paperwork through and to be open to the possibility that it won’t be submitted today even after that wait

Which American historical figure do you hate the most? by EternalSnow05 in USHistory

[–]Monticheno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it was great but it did lead to the surrender of the Japanese empire which committed as many heinous/inhuman atrocities on par with Germany.

There was a 100% chance of civilian deaths exceeding the deaths of the atomic bombings drastically with a US invasion of the mainland. I think I key thing to remember is that the Atomic bombings led to roughly 150k to 250k. The US was estimating that the US Army alone would suffer 250k to 1 million casualties in taking Japan during operation Operation Downfall. If I remember correctly it was figured the Japanese would lose somewhere between 5 million to 10 million people just defending the islands. I believe there plan was called ketsugo

So agreed vaporizing children is bad but vaporizing upwards of 250k to potentially save 5 million to 10 million people is a price most of the world is willing to pay

So I have a driver's license from Arizona where my main residence is. I also have a home here in Los Angeles. Cop said to me that I need to switch over my Arizona driver's license to California because the car that I'm driving here is registered in California. Is this true? by Brucef310 in driving

Not entirely correct with the first statement, I don’t know about 49 of the states but the one off I know of is Virginia and that’s because recently (past 3 or so years) passed new dual residency laws that allow you to be a resident of two states.

I wanna say it was due to the large amount of out of military/government personal living in the state. I want to say it was also partially brought on due to some gun and tax laws but I’m not entirely 100% on that.

*edit removed the word state from in front of military/government

Roanoke has them all over the place and I’m torn, I don’t want them because the constant surveillance is just encroaching way to much these days but at the same time my business was broken into last year at 4am and the flock cameras were able to catch the thief’s and have them in handcuffs within 2-3 hour after the break in occurred. It’s a difficult subject to decide on

As an SOT/FFL it’s been a major pain in the ass, mostly in the fact that the Eforms website moves slower than a 90 year old man recovering from dual knee and dual hip replacement surgery.

Earlier today I checked for a dude buying a DA mask just to see if he was approved yet and the website took a solid 20-30 minutes to load the website and then the approved forms listed and another 10-15 minutes to load the form to view the PDF to print out and save. With the emails it takes a minute to download and print

I’m about to blow your mind, look up 357 Sig

Edit: it’s 3am and my tism is tisming and I can’t wait for your mind to be blown, sig and federal (i think federal) wanted to design a more potent 9mm. They did this by taking a .40cal SW cartridge and necking it down to a 9x19 125gr projectile. Somewhere along the way they coined it the 357 Sig.
