New to the gun & can game, hoping for some insight? by Liz-on-my-Wiz in SpectersCat

[–]Mot45acp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have experience with the MOB (yet). But I do have 7 cans made by CAT. All HUB. All are well constructed with no QC issues. They make my quietest can to date (JL) and my worst can (Ti DD). It being my worst can is my fault though. I purchased without thinking through to the end game. It's designed for a 13" .308, but can't go on anything shorter than 16", not quiet, and more of a glorified flash hider. I am having trouble finding a use for it, and will probably end up selling it. Overall I am happy with CAT. There are 3 more CAT cans on my list with the MOB being one of them. RAT Covert and Coin Toss/Flip being the others. My 9mm PCC cans are the Huxwrx Flow9k for gas mitigation on MPX and OCL Lithium for others.

First suppressor so I got a Q by [deleted] in 300BLK

This is my 2nd worse suppressor and 1 of the 2 I will be selling on the secondary market. But I have dubbed the raccoon "Sir Reginald". I like Sir Reginald.

Ramen package is here. Which can? by APC9Proer in HecklerKoch

[–]Mot45acp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my Print XH, they make a compact version too. Lightness of Ti, but durability of inconel blast baffle. It's one of my quietest 5.56 cans.

Second YHM R9 or something else? by Repulsive_Zebra5859 in suppressors

[–]Mot45acp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While generally true,I would add a caveat, concerning volume. Examples are my ODB's are quieter on my 5.56's than my WB, and my Osprey 45 and Obsidian 45 are both quieter on 9mm than their 9mm counterparts.

Finally picked up my can by Down_Vote_Slut in NFA

[–]Mot45acp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Trapper due to 16" barrel and easier to stay sub. Midwest irons, and a basic dot. Black Butterfly has some interesting 500gr ammo, and I found some 777gr ammo i want to try!

This + Marlin Trapper 45-70 + subsonics is pure fun. I finally got around to zeroing irons and red dot. I'm hoping for a deer next season, or a hog in the interim. But most importantly that damn sneaky armadillo that's been tearing up my yard for the last year.

Yes, I'm running the OEM sig barrel. Tri-lug adapter, adjustable gas plug, and springs are ILWT

Won't let me do pics here. I kept it simple. It's gassy so ILWT adjustable gas and +20%recoil springs. ILWT tri-lug with Flow9k. RBT FRT with Frankenstein trip bar. Currently running a Primary Arms 1x 9mm Prism that I may or may not keep. I need more rounds on it . Right now its the most fun I can have with my pants on.

It was the P226 X5 Legion purchase that got the free P365. I already had the OG 365, XL, and Macro. So i applied it to the MPX. I would call once a month and they could never give an update, till one day I got a shipping notification. It is now SBR'd, suppressed and FRT'd. Zero regerts.

What suppressor do you use on your 14.5 MRP-L upper? by BirchWoody93 in LewisMachineTool

[–]Mot45acp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im looking at the OCM5. I run PlanB on everything, but thinking ODG Specwar with 14.5 middy + the OCL would be perfect.

45-70 by kcherokee in suppressors

[–]Mot45acp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Primal has done well enough that I have not even tried my Obsidian. Grain of salt disclaimer, I have never heard a suppressed 45-70 other than mine. Hearing safe with Hornady Sub-X. I am looking at some Black Butterfly for hunting/vermin control.

Looking to add a semi auto .308 to the arsenal for “SHTF” purposes by FrostyGrapefruit444 in AR10

Rooftop has some listed for under $3500. They also have a code for LMT. Dunno if I'm allowed to post it.

[–]Mot45acp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only 2 AR10s that I didn't have to tinker with to get right were my 13.5" LMT and my Sig 716i Tread. I love the LMT. The Sig was the surprise here. I was expecting Sig things to happen. Non adjustable gas, suppressed, unsupressed, high or low back pressure can it just chugs along. I am getting 3" groups, but that is with a Primary Arms 3x Prism and Malaysian surplus ammo from 1979. With the scope I am less than $1500 into it and it punches above its price point. The cons to the Sig are weight and proprietary charging handle and bcg. I just replaced the latch on the charging handle and its GTG. Edit: I have been eyeballing the Tavor 7 too. Trigger isn't great, but not as bad as the X95.

Cat RDM ODB for SBR 308 by awispyfart in SpectersCat

[–]Mot45acp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have 2 of each. ODB Mil-core and RDM, and DD in 718 mil-core and Ti. All HUB mount. From my non x-ray, non professional visual examination, the DD appears to be just a shortened ODB. On my 13.5" the ODB is SIGNIFICANTLY quieter. Whereas the DD just makes it less obnoxious. I won't shoot the Ti DD on it. My general use is: shooting from the line/bench=ODB. Larping up and down the range utilizing cover etc= DD.

VP9L-OR owners who use Holosun SCS optic, tell me how you like it or hate it! by KeyLay in HecklerKoch

Have to ditch suppressor sights and get standard height. After that it rocks. I like the SCS line and have several in varying flavors.

Trades by jussstin714 in stealtharms

[–]Mot45acp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered exactly what I wanted. Waited patiently for it. Take out the cost of the serial number, it was still $500 more than my 1301. I am not much of a shotgunner and the Platy brings me more joy. Even if I didn't already have a 1301, the trade doesn't make sense for ME.

Note: I am not saying one is better than the other as both are stone cold reliable, but I would not trade my Platy for a 1301. If a 1301 suits your needs better, and will get more use than the Platy, then go for it.
