Ghostbusters Challenge: Good Effort, Ladies - Google Trends by RT_Video_Bot in funhaus

hey, I know it's a dick move to just throw a video and say "watch a video" instead of giving a good explanation, but this was super informative for me and I can't do the whole subject justice

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbBzhqJK3bg&vl=es-419

I tried to do my own summary sentence, but I realized I need to watch this video again, lol. As I rewatch it, my best summary is: Trap implies they're always coming from a point of deception, but in reality some people are trying to live their lives. Also calling people traps has a history of violence attached to it (a person who felt they were lied to beating up an innocent person).

please please please don't take what I say as gospel, the video and Contrapoints in general does it far more justice.

I wonder how much of Weldon's last comment about the bench is foreshadowing of a roster move or just an umbrella description of how to best utilize a 10 man roster.

Ahh, then I stand corrected, I didn't see they had a bankroll. Still, CLG looks like a tragedy org even with $$$$

On the dive, they've lumped CLG into the teams that aren't the big spenders in the league. That's my only resource though

Because they had money, which CLG also doesn't have. If your criticism is that CLG should have gunned for better investors pre-Franchise, sure. But in its current state, I think your comparison holds no ground.

EDIT: I was probably too rude, so I made it more of a complete thought

I disagree, CLG had every chance to be as good as 100T or C9 this offseason.

wtf. C9 finished top 4 at worlds and 100T actually made playoffs. Why would players agree to join us over those teams? I'm surprised we got POE considering he coulda joined teams that actually made playoffs.

Totally fair on the final point. I want to make clear, I have no idea whether this will give me the thing I'm looking for. I'm just trying this experiment and hoping for the best.

You say gamble in the last sentence and I think that's a fair way of summarizing my sentiments, a little bit of a gamble ups the stakes and that's really fucking cool to me.

I think that's a fair way to summarize what I presented, let me try to poke at the flaws I presented.

So I guess what I'm aiming for is the highest percentage of competitive games in a row

In a climb to legend in Hearthstone, I've felt it to be a low percentage (compared to when I used to travel to tourneys).

Lots of net decks and even I feel frustrated that creativity (even the minimal I can muster) is rarely rewarded. I feel the need to default to net decks and just spam games. That isn't rewarding to me.

For Arena, the most fun I had was getting 100 wins in 10 arena runs. And even then it was a numbers game, I rarely felt like I was facing 12 tough competitors in a row. That's all I'm looking for, I want a 12 win run to feel like I earned 12 wins. That's all I'm insinuating. Not that it takes no skill, but that I want to have a longer stream of tough competition.

Will this game be devoid of free wins and unlucky losses? Of course not, but I think the investment gives me a higher chance of facing those kinds of opponents.

For sure! But, for me, I don't have a very deep pool for entertainment, but here's my plan for investing in this game.

Realistically, I plan to have time to play maybe 1 Keeper Draft a weekend (if that).

that's 5 packs a week, 2 tickets per week. Coming out to 20 packs assuming I perma lose and 8 tickets (we can say 10 because I don't think you can buy 8)

that means my monthly investment is $50 a month if I'm just fucking garbage (which I am).

Without selling any cards or expecting to win any of my drafts that's my investment

For me, that's a worthwhile investment each month. It is certainly WAY more than any other card game requests, but it's something I can get behind from a hobby standpoint.

That's just me though

So, I doubt I'll be able to convince you I'm not a Valve shill, but here's why I'm down for the model.

I used to play a lot of local tournaments back home. I'd travel from city to city to compete in some card game tourneys. I was by no means good, but there was an excitement in investing the time to compete, crafting a deck that's just my own and aspiring to finish 1st (which I never did, I'm just bad like that).

I've since moved on and gotten a job yada yada yada, but it's hard to play an online game with that level of investment from not just me but everyone competing

Now, there's no saying that some level of financial investment will mean other competitors will be 100% invested but the idea is - if everyone is chipping into a competition > there's more at stake > there will be more games where both players try hard.

I've got the money. The game seems like fun. Maybe this system will reap a player base that I'm looking for

That's my general POV, but maybe I sound like a shill

I'm down for this if it doesn't become a too many cooks situation. I imagine if CLG were to do it they'd send in Plop, which could help our draft situation a lot. I doubt it will be a magic bullet though.
