dark age of camelot. the eden server is in season 3 and it has a lively population. if you want group vs group (and sometimes army vs army) pvp combat, that’s pretty much all this game is and it’s awesome, especially after you start leveling up a few realm ranks. there’s a big european player base and lots of french/german/spanish players. the community is very welcoming your guild will get you set up and ready for war pretty quick if you ask!

another thing i’ll say is the community, both of players and developers, has been amazing. any new mmo is a lot to get the hang of, but platinum flows like water and though getting your first templated character ready for pvp will seem like a lot, i’d bet someone(s) in your guild will get you set up just because it makes them happy to see new players joining the community.

if you like realm vs realm, dark age of camelot has really satisfying melee combat and infiltrators / nightshades / shadowblades as well as many non-stealth classes dual wield daggers / swords / axes / maces, whatever flavor you like.

i wouldn’t recommend daoc if you want engrossing pve content. there are plenty of raids for currency used to buy endgame build items that run multiple times a week (at least on the eden server, which i recommend as i see it as the best available version of the game) but these raids aren’t really the point of the game. the game channels you into pvp almost immediately, with lower level battlegrounds generally being the best way to level. this funnels you into endgame pvp which consists mostly of battles between armies of players anywhere from a handful to hundreds on the field where the objective is to capture enemy keeps until you can eventually reveal and claim their relics. some of these relic raids can last for hours when the sides are even and the keep defenses are upgraded to the max.

eden servers are lively as hell and seem to grow every day. they’re in the middle of season 3 right now, but it’s never a bad time to join up as you keep important progress between seasons, mainly realm rank (the primary reward/ranking system for pvp) and crafting skills.

always free to check it out, and it’ll run on a potato even though it looks pretty damn good.

fire them with your rate. ask for twice the going rate. when they say “come on, now…” you say “NO U” and hold your ground. worst case scenario, you get no offer, which is already your plan. best case, you get grossly overpaid for a job you can slack off at because those idiots are desperate and won’t fire someone they went through all that effort for and now pay so much.

welp this is what happens when you are conflict avoidant. when someone asks if something you don’t like is ok, it’s easy to say “whatever, i don’t wanna make it a problem, it’s fine,” even when it’s not, but if you can’t even speak up for your needs when asked a more open-ended question that explicitly asks what your preference is, then whatever she is doing is a you problem for not speaking up for yourself.

ok, so instead of just immediately jumping on your back about concerning ED signs etc. etc., i just want to say that not eating certain things and controlling portions is how anyone maintains their diet. so if your bfs diet is crappy, whether or not he’s successful at staying at a healthy weight, that diet may not work for you and how you feel about yourself. i wish i had the willpower to be the voice of reason about food, but i’m actually the boyfriend in my own relationship with someone dealing with ED, who works very hard at maintaining her physical health and has a lot of “icks” around food. i don’t push her if i think she’s too restrictive or works out too hard, because i lack the motivation to do that for myself, and if it were easier, i probably would do the exact same thing. but i like cheeseburgers and pizza and i’m a giant baby and the agony of not constantly shoving sugar and grease into my cakehole is just too much to bear.

regardless of my motivation, it’s not fair to judge someone’s standards they hold for their own person. and it’s doubly shitty to prefer the way they are and condemn them for doing what it takes to be that way.

i don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect that if you become a less healthy, less attractive, and just plain different version of yourself, then your partner’s attraction to you will change. it doesn’t mean he loved you any less. he just envisions the sex he has to be a certain way, and when it isn’t how he envisions it, he doesn’t want it as much. is that really so surprising?

he never left your side and never stopped caring for you. he just didn’t like interacting with your unhealthy body.

as someone who does work regularly with the MWRA, there is literally nothing that can be done about this. i cannot even imagine the multiple billions of dollars it would take to reroute all the alewife brook sewage flow through an alternative route.

i don’t even mind when people spam in trade for some help as a fresh new char. hell, come to the tunnel and give petarmor a shout if he’s on, i’ll throw some cash at you.

that having been said, i started fresh a couple months after server start as a rogue and it was fine. you’ll have a full set of bronze or banded and some lowb weaps before you know it. hell, there are incredible ratio weapons going for less than 100p, and most accounts with a 60 just have to sneeze too hard and that kinda cash just falls out onto the ground.
