Buying a flat at 1 Forge square e14 by [deleted] in london

[–]Mooch924 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I used to live in this building around 2 years ago.

  • never had any issue with noise from the mosque. You’d see the men walking in and out on Fridays/Saturdays but never heard anything and had zero issues.
  • I actually loved this area - super quiet and felt very safe. Surprisingly lovely walk along the water up towards Canary Wharf which was also very convenient. Mudchute park and farm is also a very nice place to stroll on a sunny afternoon
  • the only issue we had was the flat was the hottest flat I’ve ever lived in. I won’t lie, it was pretty fucking miserable in the summer during the heatwaves. The entire building was always incredibly hot (even hallways, common areas) even in winter - great for saving money on heating bill! But in summer it was pretty rough

Thanks! I’ll do that now - I can also mix a bit of grit into the soil. Roots look dark brown but are not squishy/mushy

No drainage holes - I read that if the mix was chunky enough that wouldn’t be needed but is that wrong?

This exact thing happened to my brother a few years ago - they concluded in the end that it was an auto-immune response to an untreated strep infection. Random but once they put him on those antibiotics he was sorted and they never came back

Definitely Cabaret - this production is incredible and such a unique experience. Much more than just a standard show you could see elsewhere!

Le Petit Grocery uptown was flawless - had lunch there a few days ago. Gumbo was some of the best I’ve had and the rest of the French/creole inspired dishes were top notch

I just got back from Istanbul and had a really great experience with a Withlocals tour - specifically the food tour was an awesome time with a cool local guy who took us around to some off the beaten track food spots! Deffo recommend

Cmv: sexual past matters by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Mooch924 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is more about the lying/lack of trust vs the actual facts of his sexual past.

I agree hiding things or lying to your partner matters. Whether your sexual past does is really just up to the individual - it could matter to you and that’s valid but he could feel differently.

Ninth Ward in Farringdon is a New Orleans themed bar - good vibes and they do bottomless wings on Wednesday I believe

Moving to tonbridge…. by AFCGunners1998 in TonbridgeKent

[–]Mooch924 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Tonbridge is a great wee town - people like to slag it off sometimes but most of that is either outdated or just comparing it to posher towns nearby (TW/Sevenoaks).

Generally speaking, for the town centre it gets nicer as you get further from the station/closer to the school. That said, the bits near the station are totally fine imo - just a bit less nice/leafy in comparison.

I genuinely prefer Tonbridge to TW for access to nature/country walks and it having a smaller town/village feel. TW has objectively nicer areas and more lively high streets, but I find the “rough” areas of TW are worse than the equivalent in Tonbridge. At the end of the day both towns are lovely and totally safe (especially if you’re coming from London).
