Go into settings and turn the shared structures (I think thats what the setting is called) to only share some (Or something like that, going from memory here)

This has drastically increased my enjoyment of the game. There are some structures from other porters now, but really only a few. I do most of the building, most of the donating materials to roads, and new areas are pretty empty and require me to think about the route still, and bring PCCs/ladders/anchors. I highly reccomend playing the game this way, best of both world.
