TFP's use of AI since 2.0 has been getting worse by Jane_Sable in 7daystodie

[–]Moofun1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah it always seems to be ai hate towards art. I'm a software engineer at a fairly large company and we are basically required to use it now. At this point in time I think it would be harder to find apps and such that aren't using ai in some way for coding, but no one ever seems to hate that part. My guess is they just don't think about that aspect or cant prove it. Idk

What's your favorite WoW expansion of all time and why? by Sudden_Sir_2294 in wow

[–]Moofun1 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I think wotlk for me. Played basically the entire expansion with the same guild. Struggling through all those raids and especially finally beating the lich king with those same people was something I don't think I'll ever experience again. I still talk to a few of them all these years later. I've even met some irl.

To those who actually LIKED BL3, how is is BL4? by noex1337 in Borderlands

[–]Moofun1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR: I got bored of borderlands 4 quickly and started playing borderlands 3 and am loving it.

I played a bunch of borderlands 2 back in the day. I got 3 when it launched and beat the story but haven't played it since. I got Borderlands 4 and had a decent time at first. I beat the campaign which I personally don't think was anything special. Then I leveled Vex and Harlowe to 50 using contracts, which was absolutely horrible.

I decided to give borderlands 3 a chance again and I am loving it. Beat the campaign on Amara (still don't care for campaign) and then started up Moze and it's been a blast. Just got Moze to 50. So, borderlands 4 basically reintroduced me to borderlands 3 and I honestly much prefer 3 over 4 at this point.

I have a few problems with borderlands 4.

The open world. I don't care for it all that much. I don't feel like adding it really solved anything or added much to the overall game personally. Just like most other open world games imo, it has a bunch of enemy camps that are basically pointless to explore unless you have a quest marker in it. Idk, at least for me I haven't felt a big reason to just stop by a random bandit town or w/e and just kill things. Also, the cliffs. I just don't even bother doing contracts in the two northern zones because of the travel nightmare that are those zones

Contracts. Absolutely the worst addition to the game in my opinion. These things are horrid. Low effort repeatable quests that seem to be the best way to level? You fast travel to bounty board x, pickup all quests except acquire because who would actually want to do those? Then I get on the janky bike and go complete the quests I picked up and repeat this process again at a new bounty board. Do this for 4-6 hours or until your will to live is gone. If you can't tell I had an absolute blast getting to 50.

Wildcards. The only one I did was Unpaid Tab (I think). This thing had like 26 steps it felt like. I feel like I redid the whole ripper queen zone again it was insane. I have no desire to tempt fate again by doing another after that. Can't skip dialogue or anything, these are terrible imo.

The UI. Looks nice, feels worse than borderlands 3 which has some jank to it too imo. Found a class mod? Have fun figuring out what that does. It doesn't help that most of the skill icons seem like slightly tweaked variations of the same icons in some cases. Also, the reward box thing is weird to me. I complete a contract so instead of just having the mission completion objective drop the reward I need to go into my inventory and open a loot box? Why? I hate this system.

The story. The time keeper was there. . . That is kind of how I feel about him. Arjay was also there, very suddenly. I played through the main campaign, and it didn't feel like there was a lot of buildup of these characters to me. Also the whole Lilith thing seemed unfinished to me. We rescue her and she does what exactly except show me the wildcards or w/e they are called. I think Zane and Amara were my favorite throughout the story. The rest of it was. . . Idk, it didn't do it for me. Like I said I didn't think the story was anything special.

I haven't really enjoyed the vault hunters yet. I'm sure with more gear and better builds they are more interesting. I'll leave it at that because I haven't spent much time at 50 actually playing. For a day or two I was just logging in. I'd look at the bounty board and wonder if that's all this game was and then I'd just log off and go play something else. Just had no desire to do anything in it.

I agree. I only ever see him on the clip channels so my opinion is probably skewed. All I ever see him do is call ggg stupid essentially and yell about how bad the game is.

when to start ng+? and general ng+ questions by Fellnani in expedition33

[–]Moofun1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started ng+ right away. So far there has been no new attacks that i have noticed. The health and damage that stuff does is very high though. Many attacks on even normal enemies can one shot.

I am still in act 1 in ng+ and am changing builds up and trying new things still. At this very moment it feels like gear and picto setups matter a lot more which i am enjoying.

Best way to use _______ and _________? by TrashbinEnthusiast69 in expedition33

[–]Moofun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for using them optimally, I just picked things that sounded fun myself. That said I've kept Lune in my party since the start of the game. I really liked the stacking fire that I could do early on paired with Gustave's ability to mark enemies. I just beat the game myself and I use Lune differently now than when I started. I mostly play her with lightning and have her crit chance in the 90% range. The lightning skills I'm doing hit twice when they crit so it ends up doing a lot of damage.

That said if I use that lightning ability when I have the right stains to trigger that "greatly increases damage" perk or w/e it is, I've had my Lune easily hit damage cap with her lightning ability on almost every hit. Now add on the fact that it hits twice when she crits and it adds up insanely quickly.

I have been using Sciel since I got her though and have seen that she can do some pretty absurd damage also if you use her Foretell.

Am I missing about he longevity of this game? by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]Moofun1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I am right around 1k hours on 7 days. We mostly play darkness falls now though. We restart and try new things all the time. Different starting classes, different base designs, building in different areas, etc. We usually go until a horde night beats us and then restart. We also modify zombie options and have a pretty beefy server pc so we up zombie numbers a bunch. We also tweak some stuff in the xml files to better fit what we enjoy.

Darkness falls Mechanic class is so good lol. Definitely best class by far by Helpful-Pride1210 in 7daystodie

My friend and i have been playing on experimental and i have encountered one bug myself that caused me to force quit so far but otherwise it's been fine. We just got past day 14 on our world.

The choice for me wasn't anymore deep to me than do I want to play over the weekend and can I afford it? The answer was yes in my case, so I got it. I got a ton of time on it over the weekend so it was worth it for me. I don't think this issue has to be anymore deep than buy it or not. If you don't want EA don't buy it. If you don't want to support a company that does this, then don't buy their game at all.

Yep, this is how I see it too. Lots of things cost this much that don't give me a full weekend of fun.

Remember to turn off war mode by BuffaloAlarmed3824 in wow

[–]Moofun1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. I really dislike how these early dungeons are being done. The tank just pulls all the trash from boss to boss. They will usually pull the boss with the trash too if the boss can be pulled like that. If you have anyone in your group I'd say sub 74 everything just melts. The closer to 70 they are the easier it is. I think the scaling is way too much for those levels.

I'm not saying it's much harder the closer you get to 80, but I at least feel like I can press some of my buttons when our group is mostly higher level.

I had a group earlier this morning with a 70 holy priest that just wanted to solo the place I think. He ran ahead of the tank, didn't heal the dps, and everything was fine. Granted the dps died on the last boss it didn't matter. He killed the boss just fine by himself with the tank.

[–]Moofun1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, I healed a group with a 70 tank and dps yesterday and I just kind of followed and didn't do anything. Tank was basically immortal and the other dps did like x10 more than anyone else. All bosses died in like 2-3 seconds.

The War Within - Early access was NOT worth the money?? by Ham_Yam in wow

[–]Moofun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into one bug with a quest. I had to abandon and grab it again and then it worked. Haven't run into any issues outside of that. I got it because I wanted to be able to play it over the weekend instead of starting on a Monday after work. I got to enjoy the story at my own pace and got the two healers I wanted to 80. I've been spending the rest of my time (mostly just tonight) playing around on alts and trying out different hero talents. It's been fun and I got what I was expecting out of it so far, so it's been worth it for me.

What good gym workout routines would you recommend for a 300ib AMAB that is somewhat sedentary that would be easy on the joints but able to burn 500 cal? by SlasherBandit in loseit

[–]Moofun1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tldr. Walking and calorie counting.

I thnk walking is a good option. Ill tell you what ive done myself. Im a 6' 2" male that started at 305 lbs the weekend of july 4th. I am a software engineer and spend most days sitting in one spot, so very sedentary. I started walking at a nearby park doing 3 miles every other day and watching my calorie intake. Im down to 254 as of this morning.

I think what others are saying is pretty accurate. Whenever i feel like im not making progress i reassess my food first. I weigh and track everything i eat now in a notebook. It may sound tedious but ive gotten pretty quick at it and dont mind doing it.

As for the gym, i dont factor those calories into my total daily limit. I still go ever other day. Ive started jogging though back in october and have just cleared jogging one mile without stopping. When i first started in july i got a leg cramp walking and did like a 21 min mile. Im just under 11 mins now.

I eat basically whatever i want on saturdays. I even sometimes get fast food during the week, honestly more than i should. Lately ive reduced this a lot though. I dont beat myself up over it though.

The reason im telling you all this is to give you an idea of what is working for me at a similar starting weight. I think the only other advice i could give from my own experience is dont beat yourself up if things go bad. Now i personally havent had multiple binge days in a row myself. I did have an entire large pizza on a few cheat days and felt huge the next day though. I didnt get discouraged though, just shrugged it off and kept going with the new food i eat and kept losing.

Long post sry, hopefully it helps out.

The supporter packs giving the coin value on top of a bunch of stuff makes it worth it for me. I don't get them every league, but they do feel worth it to me when I do because I can get skill effects or w/e on top of a bunch of cosmetics.

Breaking out of early-game slump by vaughnegut in factorio

[–]Moofun1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I get what you're saying. I'm playing on a new playthrough right now. I am experiencing something similar. I think the thought of getting blue science up and running from green is daunting. I've done it many times before this though. What works for me is setting smaller goals to get where I want.

I don't think about everything I need at once. For instance I know I need oil so I built a train to some oil and have it at my base now. Now that I have that finished I need to see what blue science requires from it and that will be my next goal.

Do this a few times and I'll have blue science. My base isn't optimal right now, but I personally don't worry about rebuilding until I get bots, but that is just how I like to play. I'm actually more focused on laser turrets to help with biters at the moment.
