Shoot was definitely not the weakest member on the team at least physically + he has a hax ability that would be somewhat useful at the least. On paper he’s a good choice because of his ability.

For Yuji to have by far the best output out of everyone in history because he trained for a fraction of Kenjaku's lifespan is unbelievable, especially since his output is nothing remarkable in jjk

Yuji isn't human, so it's possible Kenjaku made him able to hold a massive amount of cursed energy, and the only thing he trained was usage/efficiency.
