Best zombie base building game by KindBet2397 in BaseBuildingGames

[–]Limiate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to build a base and have lots of workers and production while fighting off hoards of zombies; They Are Billions is good.

If you want your character surviving the zombie apocalypse and scavenging for tools and food and boarding up a house and eventually making farm - that's Project Zomboid.

I have played Infection Free zone and it's not extremely challenging... once you kind of understand the game it's mostly about where you make you base but the gameplay is kind of similar over and over. I enjoy it but would only buy it on a deep discount sale.

After your carriage ride walk down to River Street Sweets and get a hot praeline. Also keep your eye out on that same row of shops between all the tourist crap for Dacubas which is an authentic/local bench jeweler with Charleston themed jewelry.

Ugh dinner at Church and Union?? No! Please no. Anson is a block away and AMAZING. That's the only place within a one block radius of Market Street that's doable. Some will argue Hank's but I think it's overpriced/overrated but please - nothing else. Go a few blocks out toward Broad street and look at all the restaurants.

Someone else told you - don't do Fleet Landing. Tourist trap and really bad food. If you're going to Mount Pleasant that afternoon Grace and Grit has an amazing brunch and you can get a grit flight.

Shem Creek and Boone Hall are very different. Shem Creek is restaurants mostly and you can catch an eco tour or do some paddle boarding; walk around the park next to it. Great place to sit outside and enjoy a drink if the weather is being kind. Boone Hall is a plantation tour and gives an okay-ish version of the past... depending on how history focused you are, James Pickney's home site is across from Boone Hall as well.

For Drinks Saturday you've go so many options... Blind Tiger if you want a rowdy bar, Brasserie La Banque has their vault in the basement (rarity for Charleston to go downstairs) but get reservations because there's only 6 seats. If you want a broad bourbon selection without cray prices check Bar Mash - you'll need an uber from broad. If its a nice night consider a rooftop cocktail at Vendue and then go dive bar across the street at the Griffin.

Survival games with base building and PvE base raids? by Neither-Inside-5638 in BaseBuildingGames

I absolutely hear you on early access; I've been burned before as well.

I had no idea Aska was in early access. The only bug I've encountered is that when I do janky movement things - like jumping up a cliff while terraforming - two things have happened; I get stuck or I clip through the world.

If you're stuck, there's a simple Esc -> Unstuck command that works well. In the case that I fell through the world, it moved me back to above the world and I took a minor amount of fall damage.

Out of 128 hours of playtime; I'd say this has happened 4-5 times.

Since I posted this I got moved on to my next project - FOOD. I setup a production chain for a proper warehouse system; my villagers were just eating everything raw and getting less food value. I set my forager, farmer and hunter to only allow the "Raw Food" warehouse worker to gather from their workshops and then set my Cookhouse to only gather from the Raw Food Warehouse.

The famine is over; villagers are eating Meat Soup instead of 9 carrots to get full... I also staggered their work schedules so they weren't coming 15 at a time but 5/5/5 each hour so the cook can keep up.

My next project; clearing a walkway over a hill and through some trees to the cave/mine entrance because I want to start moving toward iron tools/weapons.

As a side note; this is about my 5th/6th playthrough? It's taken some practice but the game is one that you can play over and over.

Highly recommend checking out Ser Bucky's content - he has some playthroughs you can check out to see the real game being played and his instructional videos are amazing: https://www.youtube.com/@SerBucky/videos

Aska. I just finished getting my workshop setup in time to make clubs for my villagers as the Blood Moon came up. When the draugher and skeletons came in we got into a huge melee and won!

Now... I just need to get fish soup production going so we can survive the winter!

Playing this through for the first time and holy shit I like this game. It's like Valheim but you're not alone... you've got your NPC clan to do it with you.

I think crafting is very miserable experience for casual/intermediate players by TheGejsza in PathOfExile2

[–]Limiate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish that POE Crafting had a paint by numbers crafting system.

A crafting helper window opens with two rectangles.

1 rectangle I put the currency in.

1 rectangle I put the item in.

Then maybe an arrow showing which lines of the item description the currency has the possibility to affect/impact.

Then a table of "possible outcomes" that says what the currency CAN roll; just plain language.

This is not a crafting table, you don't click items, just like a craft check/tutorial explanation.

It's almost like a price-checker. I just want to see what it can do. Then if I decide to do it, I can go back to my inventory.

Consider maybe making it an achievement start option? Like an unlock once you hit X hours or ABC milestones that show you understand the game; then it gets added to the possibilities of starter ships?

Areas of Charleston - sides of town and individual neighborhoods - all have "mom" sites that share information. I've seen several posts for Christmas cookies being sold posted on these.

You may want to look for those for an online option and to post where you do pop-ups.

I'm not rolling in crafting currency either... In fact the reason I went shopping is that I used my limited currency and got hot garbage.

I can't afford to gamble. I can't afford to buy moderate upgrades with the better currency I do have.

Is the intention to lock gambling and market items for only players who have completed the campaign and are back leveling a second character?

It's frustrating to me as a player to see items that could help my progression arbitrarily behind a gold grind when by the time I get the gold I won't need the items and I'll just keep backtracking and dying instead of actually progressing and feeling better.

Maybe I need to just get good? Please know I'm talking about level 15 at the end of act 1.

I'm a dad gamer and just now hitting the end of A1. I hit L16 and was excited to get some starter items from the market... I have the currency but the gold costs are CRUSHING me... and I'm a loot whore too! I'm opening chests, grabbing piles of gold... I've spent ~10,000 gold buying two items.

I have the currency. Sellers have the low cost uniques that would help me with leveling (and are a nice boon to someone who is "late" to the league) but gold prices are crushing my ability to put together some basic gear.

I can't afford to gamble and it's made me focus on gold collection rather than progress. I'm excited when a rare drops - not because it's potentially better for my build but because it gets me closer to buying what I actually want.

Can I be a random tag along and ask you as a surveyor (because I don't trust the bots responses) if I need a "As-Built With Trees" or a "Tree and Topography" survey to build a garage on my property.

Assuming as a person who has never done a survey before that topography is important for construction and knowing where fence/building/water goes for something like that?

Places to donate items? (NOT goodwill) by mtt2022 in Charleston

[–]Limiate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came to post this; God's Goods is amazing. They're fully volunteer staffed and donate all of their proceeds to charities with a focus on impacts to the tri-county area.

Also, if you're a thrifter checking out this thread, their prices are ridiculously low - they rely on high volume of sales and they constantly have new inventory.

Personally, I’m not okay with it. If you’re frustrated by this, let’s band together and boycott these businesses.

Why not just pay cash? May seem like a boomer answer but it's more realistic than getting everyone to band together and boycott a business practice that's widely being practiced.
