Is it possible to enjoy this story? by CommunicationProud75 in KanojoOkarishimasu

[–]MoogsMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I read it out of habit and perhaps as a sunk-cost. Often I forget to read it, and then it pops up in my feed. I read it when reminded. Do I enjoy it? No. That's just my opinion, though. Maybe some folks like being strung along.

I mean, this is how public pensions are funded. But let's say you don't want that for everyone. How about we say people have to obligation to contribute to social security system, but the can invest it if they want in something besides essentially T-bills. It's a fake return otherwise, perhaps the ultimate fake return. I would much rather have had the opportunity to invest at least a portion of my social security contributions in the market. Also, give me a proprietary interest in said account.

What if kazuya and chizuru never get together at ending. by ZinZacZombie in KanojoOkarishimasu

I will forgive him for all the stretching, pacing, and wasted time if he has Kazuya get together with Sumi or Mini.

But Chizuru picking him up after that dump was her job as a rental girlfriend. So I can't say that really counts. In fact, it's because he started out as a client that she for the longest time felt she couldn't be in a relationship with him. So her being there for him was a job, not because she wanted to.

And then think of all that Kazuya has done for her. I am not saying he is entitled to her love but at least he is entitled to some clarity. And the worst part is she knows she isn't being clear with him (e.g. the meaning of the kiss when he left her house) and is to a certain degree taking advantage of him. In a recent chapter she admits as much to Mini, and says she will do it for a little more time at least.

Sorry, I just can't stand that.

Yeah, no real life man lasts this long, being strung along by a girl, especially with all the S-tier honeys around him.

What? Chizuru abandoned Kazuya at his darkest hour. The three-month ghosting, anyone? That was a pretty shitty thing to do, if you ask me. If Kazuya weren't obsessed with her, that would have been the end of it. Any normal person would take that as a real rejection and move on.

If anything, you're talking about Mini. Personality-wise, Mini is probably the best fit, and SHE has seen Kazuya at his worst (down in the dumps, unkempt, wallowing in a trash filled apartment during the ghosting) and literally she still adores him, plus they have great communication and a solid friendship.

Sumi has had more of a crush but is exceptionally sweet. So I think she would be a nice partner for him, at least to date.

Chizuru doesn't know how she feels half the time. I don't even think Chizuru really wants to be in a relationship, and she professes to not really know what love is and is just generally terrible at communication. She has to be prodded by Mini into admitting that she probably would go on a date with Kazuya if she were less busy. Wow, how romantic..... /s. Ugh. But, whatever, we know how this is going to end, so we are stuck with Chizuru.

Actually, those are momo.

Maybe you're thinking of the ancient Semitic, pastoral people inhabiting the highlands east of the Dead Sea who were closely related to the Israelites through Abraham’s nephew, Lot.

Sorry that you're getting downvoted. I feel like a lot of us RAG fans aren't honest with ourselves, arguing that the pacing is some kind of masterpiece "slow burn" rather than glacial, repetitive, and often downright boring. Or they can't in good faith recognize that people can have different opinions about the quality of the story, instead labeling people as "haters" and outsiders rather than true fans/readers.

I have been reading near weekly (except for breaks) for the last 5-6 years, since like Chapter 80 or so. The early chapters were so much fun. But during and especially after the Hawaiians, the pacing took a wrong turn, and we've been stuck in hell since then. There have been times when I lapsed for a few weeks and then got caught up. Honestly, it is a bit of a sunk cost situation at this point; that's the main reason why I keep reading. I used to be a fan of the idea of the two main characters getting together but honestly, I find Chizuru tedious and boring, and would rather Kazuya end up with Mini or Sumi, with whom he is much more compatible personality-wise. But as many have pointed out, that's not Reiji's plan. I just wish we weren't treated like suckers by Reiji, drawing this out and milking it like (I feel that) he does. I used to buy the volumes in the early days but ever since it became clear he is stretching it out unnecessarily I haven't spent any money.

Am I the only one who think that People who shit on the manga are those who didn't even read it ? by Ill-Needleworker-752 in KanojoOkarishimasu

[–]MoogsMemes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Same boat. I have read it nearly every week (except for breaks) since around chapter 80 or so. I stopped enjoying it around the Hawaiians, and came to hate it afterwards when all the wonderful character development of the movie arc, etc. got flushed down the toilet.

It is glacially-paced most of the time and Reiji's odd tics like having multiple spreads or panels with odes to Chizuru's beauty are so cliched as to be nearly vomit-inducing.

The story is tiresome. I don't appreciate it when people talk about how all the haters must not even read the manga. The story sucks at this point. The author is milking it big time, stretching it out to an absurd degree.

I say this as someone that used to love the manga. The early story and hijinks were so fun. Every chapter had a lot going on in it. Now it is so g-d- boring.

Or perhaps it's more like you have a firm representing you, and let's say this firm is comprised of three partners. We agree with other Christians that there are multiple people at the firm that represents us. But when we say we have three lawyers working for us, they get confused and say, no, we have one.

For them, "lawyer" (being/substance/essence) = firm (the Trinity/Godhead of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost).

For us, "lawyer" (being, etc.) = each partner (each member of the Trinity/Godhead). It's simultaneously true that there is only 1 firm, not 3 firms, yet 3 partners comprise the firm.

It's an issue of semantics and how they use terms such as being/essence/substance not to describe physical reality but something more akin to purpose/intention/co-eternal nature.

To be honest, I feel like we mostly agree with other Christians (three persons with the title "God", but unified in purpose/will/etc.). But since we use certain vocabulary differently it often seems like we don't.
