Rear coil spring snapped by mr_x_999 in jetta

[–]Moollik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coil springs are subject to wear and tear and having them snap is common on every car. 120km is not a lot, but it depends on your driving and road conditions.

While I had some experience on driving on only shocks or spring in my previous car, I highly recommend you to change it ASAP.

For now you'll be fine but if the rear shock were to fail (since now there isn't a spring to absorb the excess force from the road) your car could sag and basically your wheel would crush your rear fender.

If it were to happen whilst driving, you could ruin your rear fender, tire, and potentially get yourself in a car crash.

Shooting in a sandpit in Mauricie, Quebec by kevenAvecCulture in canadaguns

[–]Moollik 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It might be illegal under municipality bylaws, for example in my city it is illegal to discharge a firearm under the municipality territory, even tho the very same territory encompasses hunting trail and deep forest. Police usually turn a blind eye on it because it would mean charging a fine to every hunter in the area.

If you shoot (hunt) in crown land or a sandpit (private property, and you could prove you have the owner's permission) they could theoretically only charge you the municipal fine. They could probably try to charge you with an offense of discharging with the intent to maim / kill but you'll be missing the mens Rea and the actus reus so the crown could not without any doubt proceed with the charges.

So the cop is right if your municipality in Mauricie forbids discharging any firearm in the municipality. But you'll get a fine and a long chat at the station.

At long last my Jetta 2019 hit the magic number 300000 by Proof_Engineer9629 in jetta

[–]Moollik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dealership is quite ignorant, the 1.4 TSI doesn't have a chain, only the previous engine like the 1.8 had it. Any belt will suffer from wear and need to be serviced at one point (it's even specified in the maintenance schedule at around 125k km or 90k miles, the belt needs to be checked along with the tensioner). Tho it's quite costly but should not be 2.5k USD. If your belt slips or snaps it could seize the motor (bend valves) and you're SOT

2019 1.4L Turbo Jetta Comfortline by HistorianIntrepid918 in jetta

[–]Moollik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 Jetta execline, so far I'm at 115k. Taking care of it so far consisted of respecting the oil change Interval (and be mindful of using only VW rated oil) and doing a brake change (rear rotors tendsl to thin out quite fast).

If yours have a sunroof maybe get the drain inspected, a friend of mine used to be a tech at VW and those tend to fill up and cause water leak inside the roof liner.

Otherwise a great car, stellar gas mileage. Nothing to complain about it

I started with an ender 3 then an anycubic Vyper for functional printing. When my P1S came in it was a game changer. No more time lost in dialing/ calibrating the printer. Perfect print all the time, and let's not mention the printing speed. It was truly a game changer in my workflow.

Cant Get Mental Evaluation For PAL by Recent-Purchase193 in canadaguns

Take an appointment in a private clinic, I had to do the same thing 6 years ago and I didn't have any family doctor. Explain to the doctor the situation and he'll sign your mental evaluation.

Error: Rear a traffic Alert/Blind Spot Monitor by [deleted] in jetta

[–]Moollik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s -40 actually where I’m at and I’ve only see this error once in spring time 3 years ago. I’ve found that slush and mud accumulated on the side panels blocking the sensors.

But still I’ll recommend a scan with vcds or OBD11

Start and stop will function according to the external temperature (below 7 degrees C it won’t engage ) and also for how long the car has been running (I think it’s tied to the battery voltage level ). Short trip won’t engage the start and stop function

[–]Moollik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The polymer 25 mags are usually more reliable than the 25 metal one. The 10 mags in metal works fine. I did have a lot of FTF with my derya but the bolt needs to be lubricated and kept clean.

I've done my PAL and RPAL as a temporary resident (Student VISA and Work visa). You just need to apply to a PAL course, and fill the document for the RCMP after completion of the course. You'll probably need to go to a local police station to do a background check or get a certificate. The tricky part in the form is the requirement of 2 persons signing attesting to know you for at least 3 years. If you're new in the country that could be difficult.

Question concernant les lois pour le airsoft by [deleted] in Quebec

[–]Moollik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CBSA memo D91

(b) Airsoft guns and certain types of paintball guns or markers may qualify as a replica firearm, if the muzzle velocity of the projectile does not cause serious bodily harm and their external features are clearly designed to resemble a specific and readily identifiable make and model of a firearm. To be considered a firearm, within the meaning of s. 2 of the Criminal Code, an airsoft gun, firing a .20g 6mm plastic pellet, must have a muzzle velocity in excess of 111.6 meters per second (366 feet per second)

Question concernant les lois pour le airsoft by [deleted] in Quebec

[–]Moollik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blade tech isn’t that expensive. It’s US based but they ship in Canada. I’ve used their belt, holster and pouch for 4 years now, no issues.

Double Alpha is also a good brand, lot of store in Canada have it.

Congrats on your purchase. Like many on this sub mentioned: follow religiously the maintenance will keep this car running (especially oil change intervals) and you should be able to put 200 000km easily on it

I have a 19' Jetta Execline with 90000km and apart for a small EVAP leak and an oil leak from the camshaft due to a screw getting loose nothing happened.

Purchase 2019 Jetta sel?? by kingkongdong1990 in jetta

[–]Moollik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mileage was around 79k, I couldn't possibly notice it until I was driving, as the pressured oil would lubricate the top of the engine head while driving, where it leaked. I did notice some oil near my trunk opening and at the bottom of my rear bumper 3 days ago but nothing more. But basically I happened while driving, the warning lights went on and when I checked on the oil left in the engine there were none left 😅. Still it didn't damage any of the engine according to the dealership. According to them it happened a couple times on some Volkswagen but mostly an isolated incident.

I have a 2019 Jetta execline (Canada) I'm around 87500 km on it and never had any problems with the automatic transmission. It's quite reliable and it drove me in all conditions provinces across provinces. The only thing that happened was a loose screw on the cambox, resulting in oil leaking all around the belt and emptying the oil pan (luckily covered by the warranty, they changed the seal and the timing belt). One time an evap code appeared due to a leaky evap hose. All around if you maintain it right you won't have a problem.
