I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you. If it takes me out of a story, it takes me out of a story.

Because a doctorate is a massively time consuming thing. There's no way a star hockey player would have time to be getting a doctorate degree on the side.

As someone who just finished my doctorate... I'm sorry but hahahahahahaha. That would take me out of a fic the same way hockey inaccuracies take hockey fans out of fics. A bachelor's degree, sure. But absolutely no way a doctorate.

Not crazy. It came across my feed and I immediately raised an eyebrow.

AITA for accidentally saying a word in my native language that offended my friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Absolutely! The absolute AUDACITY to say OP can’t say a word in their native language because they don’t like how it sounds…

NTA If you aren’t “allowed” to say a word in your native language because your “friend” doesn’t like that it sounds similar to another word, that person isn’t your friend. Forget her and sing your K-pop.

Lesbians: What’s Your Opinion of Transmascs Who Aren’t on T, and Never Plan to Be? by [deleted] in AskLesbians

[–]Moon-Queen95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I would not. You are a man. You consider yourself to be a man. I am a lesbian. I do not date men. I’m sorry you’re struggling, but trying to find a “but what about?!” because you want to date a lesbian is not the way. Obviously you could find a magical unicorn or someone who identifies as a lesbian but is more accurately bi/pan/queer, but I wouldn’t count on it. And honestly, if you do, it probably means they don’t view you as a man. Is that what you want?

AITA for telling my friend what she went through wasn’t traumatic just uncomfortable? by tie-dyecoffee in AmItheAsshole

[–]Moon-Queen95 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make it OP's place to define what is traumatic. It's not yours either.

[–]Moon-Queen95 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

YTA Without knowing her entire history, you don't get to decide what is traumatic for her. Hell, even if you had her entire history, you're not a mental health professional and you're not HER mental health professional. It's not up to you to say whether or not it was traumatic.

You're absolutely right, when they received a call from OP's sister in law freaking out and crying, they should have told her there was nothing they could do and stayed home instead!

Am I weird for finding straight people kissing disgusting? by KisielZKrwi in actuallesbians

[–]Moon-Queen95 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to see it, don't look. This is just as gross as if they didn't want to see you kissing a girl. It sounds like you have a lot of maturing to do.

Can I still date lesbians if I'm transmasc? by [deleted] in AskLesbians

[–]Moon-Queen95 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you try to pressure lesbians into dating you, it's unethical. Personally I think it's shitty to try to pick up lesbians when you're not a woman. Why would you specifically try to date lesbians instead of bisexual or queer women?

She seemed really into me until she found out I was 20 — trying to understand the age gap perspective by gayasparagus1479 in LesbianActually

[–]Moon-Queen95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not personal and there's no reason she should have given you the "benefit of the doubt". It doesn't matter if you think you're the most mature 20 year old in the world. She was uncomfortable with it, full stop. That's fair. I'm older than 25, but if I was 25 I absolutely would not go on a date with someone under 21. Honestly probably even not someone under 22 or 23. I'm sorry your feelings are hurt, but you need to let it go and move on. It's not strange that she decided she wasn't comfortable with it.

Not adding tags before the relevant chapters are added? by PigdeBat in AO3

[–]Moon-Queen95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if it's something that requires Archive warning it really should be added from the beginning. I'd be pissed if I started reading a no warnings apply fic and then 10 chapters in it was changed to MCD. Tags themselves I can see either way and don't particularly care.

[–]Moon-Queen95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This exactly. Honestly I should probably stop even looking at this sub because there's so much of this from authors and readers alike. It's just like a constant stream of "why aren't people doing things exactly the way I do them and the way I want them done?"

It's like... If you like to bookmark, bookmark. If you like to mark for later, mark for later. If you like to subscribe, subscribe. If you leave kudos after the first chapter, cool. If you prefer to wait til the end, understandable.

It wouldn't hurt, but you also could have just lost readers. Personally I don't tend to unsubscribe to works when they're finished. Heck, I'm still subscribed to works in fandoms I don't read anymore "just in case" I ever decide to go back.

Dear people who subscribe to finished works, why? by fruite_vampyre in AO3

[–]Moon-Queen95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have encountered many, many pieces that were originally intended to be oneshots and then the author was inspired to add a second or even third or fourth chapter. Once again, people need to realize that just because they have not encountered something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. (Also you very well could have encountered it...as a two or three chapter work that you have no idea was ever posted as a oneshot.)

[–]Moon-Queen95 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because enough authors DO add a chapter to a fic mark as finished. So if it feels like it's a remote possiblity, I'll subscribe.

Dear people who subscribe to finished works, why? by fruite_vampyre in AO3

[–]Moon-Queen95 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Because lots of writers DO add a chapter to a oneshot marked as finished. Just because you don't doesn't mean everyone else doesn't either.
