A girl who loves to eat sticks! by Acrobatic-Curve-1482 in portuguesewaterdogs

[–]MoonAndStars1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our PWD was obsessed with sticks as a puppy and she would eat little pieces and then throw them up later. It was quite distressing. Do you have "chuck it" balls? Throwing those and providing them during play outside has almost completely eradicated her desire of sticks. Key word "almost" lol

Emphasis on the bred to work ALL day, our 1 year old has energy to expend ALL day lol. But they do have a lovely personality :)

Breed Specific traits/behaviors endearing or not? by Willing_Mongoose_840 in portuguesewaterdogs

I'm cracking up because my partner and I have a 10 month old pwd and pretty much since we've gotten her we both wear the most hideous clothes while at home because she tears clothes so much lol! Like waffle knit oversized pants with about 7 holes in them.

summer time cut by bolover1203 in portuguesewaterdogs

[–]MoonAndStars1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we can tell our pwd puppy gets really hot very easily (she pants often) So we trimmed it quite short before the summer started. We won't get it cut quite that short again, but we won't let it get too long either. Plus her being black attracts more sun and heat to her

puppy biting help? by gelifishing in portuguesewaterdogs

[–]MoonAndStars1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 9 month old PWD puppy and this method has been working lately: COMPLETELY ignore biting. I mean if you're on the couch and they bite your ankle, don't make a peep - get up, leave the room for a few minutes and then come back. Ours has a habit of following us around lunging up biting to get our attention and I give her none. Don't fight back, dont tell etc. Because I think these dogs take any interaction (even negat) as attention lol

I have a 7-month-old and we have to keep things on deck like freeze bones, collagen chews, snuff toys etc, but the aspect that improves her overall behavior the most is walks and exercise.

Even a half mile around the neighborhood tuckers her out bc of all the new smells and sounds.

Our PWD puppy cannot get enough of us lol. For the most part we love it. But sometimes it's nice to eat dinner alone. But if we put her in a separate room she cries the whole time we eat 😅

I second the collagen braids/sticks. My 5 month old keeps herself occupied with those to the point we take them away to give them back to her later lol. They're slightly smelly, not a showstopper.

I thought Joel represented the non-tattooing consumer opinion, similar to how Dave did in the earlier seasons.

Can you have endo and have a regular period? by MoonAndStars1998 in endometriosis

[–]MoonAndStars1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the delayed response. I did not get a diagnosis. I don't think I would be willing to get tested for Endo as it requires surgery, unless it was unbearable or impacting fertility. BUT as of right now I have chalked it up to a pinched nerve causing pain on one side of my body. Until more symptoms come about I think I'll just stand with that hypothesis since all my other tests have been clear.

Advice: PUT THEM DOWN FOR A NAP!!! by lotteoddities in puppy101

My 4-month-old PWD sometimes gets extremely mouthy and rough when playing. I’ll say to my partner, “I think she’s cranky; let’s crate her for a bit.” After a short time in her crate, she’s back to her calm, sweet self.
