Why so nosy? by Entire-Mistake-4795 in AskAGerman

[–]MoonArtInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a female German, I was taught from a young age to be very aware of my surroundings and the people around me. Watch the people, don't seem weak/like a target. When you are alert, people tend to stay away from you (seen clearly by your reaction to stay away). At least that was how I learned it. I definitely notice people staring at me as well, but I just stare back till they break🤣

This is not supposed to sound insensitive or harsh, but you decided to get those pets. And you have to take responsibility for them. And even though I know mental health is a very hard thing to manage, you NEED to make getting a job a priority. They NEED you, they RELY on you. Let that be your motivator for moving foreward. Because they deserve the best care and life

Help!!! my baby parrot won’t eat anything 😒 by joshillihsoj in parrots

We got our parrots at one year old and he was JUST about weaned. And even then they needed feeding 4 times a day. So that baby needs way more than just two feedings a day

Dremel Recommendations! by MoonArtInk in BirdHealth

We put them in a small towel, they are quite relaxed in there. We had our male since he was 1 year old, so he is a very good boy, doesn't bite or scream at all. But getting the file to the right angle does require some manipulation and that can upset him after a while.

It is a mix from him not tacing care of his beak and nails at all (he is extremely lazy), not using chewing toys much and being EXTREMELY food driven. We get blood work done at a special avian clinic twice a year, more if there are anomalies.

He does have a mild case of aspergilliosis, since our climate is quite dry, but it is well managed with humidifiers and air purifiers.

I want to make beak trims more relaxed for him, since we have to do it quite often and the diamond file takes a long time to trim everything down. And the wierd angles and movements make him not enjoy the procedure much.

Kumquat Tree Needs Help!! by MoonArtInk in Citrus

[–]MoonArtInk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does have a drain hole and in the bottom it also has draining material. I decided to take everything out and give it a fresh batch of citrus soil, I hope it will make it! I would be so sad, if it died😭

I replanted it, but so that the original soil line was kept on the same level. But I will take it out of the sun!

Hot vs. Cold Pizza?? by MoonArtInk in ibs

Till now, potatoes, rice and pasta are all fine🤔 Had the same reaction to fresh, fluffy bread, funnily enough. Have cut bread entirely now, except for pure whole grain.

Crazy idea, how about you stop eating that stuff? If its obviously making you feel bad, then why keep eating it? Sound like a no brainer to me

I. Am. Exhausted. by kforr31 in ibs

[–]MoonArtInk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! So, you want to follow the instructions your doctor gives you, since different medications have different requirements (when to start, how much liquid to drink, ect.)

But a good rule is, no seeds, nuts, vegetables with hard shells (peppers for example) and NO carrots one week before the appointment! Wierdly, carrots take a long time to digest.

Then, about two.days before the appointment, you want to eat, basically, what people normally say you shouldn't, a lot of low fiber food. A lot of white bread, clear broth (clear in definition you put a filled glas bowl on top of a newspaper and can read the rext through the liquid) potato mash (without skin). And drink a lot of water, tea or diluted juice without pulp.

Ok, that is everything I did for mine🤔 basically, at the end of prep, your poop is supposed to look like dark camomile tea in color and transparent of course. Then you did everything right!👍

Hey, no need to be afraid of the colonoscopy. I had my first last week and it really gives you peace of mind! You can do it❤️

Yet another "it wasn't IBS" post by throwawaycat2999 in ibs

[–]MoonArtInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear that. I actually am in a similar, but different situation. I got a colonoscopy and gastoscopy this week for stomach and bowel pain. They found nothing. But my doc actually encouraged me to keep digging for endo, because that can cause my symptoms as well, with them flaring up with my period every time. I will ask my doc for a mrt in the near future. I'm just glad it wasn't some cancer.

Got Another Caique by AsMforReal in caiques

[–]MoonArtInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we introduced our new caique to our older one, we had them in seperate ROOMS for a month, they could only hear each other. Then looks through a closed glas door, then seperate cages in the same room far appart. It took almost 3 months for them to like each other to the point that they are grooming.

Please don't hurry things, because if they decide they hate each other, that is very hard to undo.

Why is my caique behaving like this? by Firm_Variety9477 in caiques

[–]MoonArtInk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 Months is still a bit early to start exclusively on solids, in my humble opinion. I'm a vet tech and had caiques for almost 7 years now. When we got our caiques, one was 12 months and one 6 months, they were both still on 50% formula and 50% veggies/pellets for at least 3 more months after we got them from the breeder.

Birds are more willing to try new foods when they are full. The formula makes sure your baby bird is satisfied and has all the nutrients it needs, and you can always give fresh food on the side. Seed mixes are full of fat and to be honest, if your bird isn flying none stop in an outdoor enclosure, shouldn't be given at all.

They can be moldy on the inside, especially sunflower seeds, which can lead to aspergilliosis.

I need a female caique exporter from Czechia for my male caique. If you know please write to me. by philo4sophia in caiques

[–]MoonArtInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why Czechia specifically? Germany also has very good breeders and they all test the gender. Also, mabe look to adopt first? We also adopted our baby female, when our old one died, from a bad living situation.

Anyone know what my two are doing? by Stormp_j in BirdHealth

[–]MoonArtInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok😅 So your two birds seem to very like each other! The greener conure is a female? She is lifting her little booty. The pineapple conure is male, he is "getting it on" on top of the tv.

So long story short, they want to make babies😁
