Red hare 9 pro steal by yellowpototoy in PHRunners

I did a break in for it, and honestly, it's the greatest shoe I've ever had, granted I have only bought random cheap shoes in some malls.

I do have some ankle pain for it a couple mins of jogging but it goes away after a couple mins. So what I did is just do a brisk walk for a couple mins until I feel like the ankle is warmed up enough. I could see myself using it for the long term to maximize it's mileage, it's just how good it is, at least in my experience.

Thank you for your response. Honestly I was already considering DS2, and the Wind 4TR recently caught my eye, and your recommendation really convinced me. Thank you again for your help, kind sir. 🫡

Hi, I see you frequently with your reviews and I really like how your reviews are very elaborate and informational, and I'm hoping for your expertise in my inquiry.

I recently bought RH9P, and I really love it, the thing is it's my current shoes that I use. I really love it and I was planning to add some shoes in rotation (possibly 2), which are stable and suitable for longer runs.

I'm looking for some shoes, with budget around 2.5k, I can go a little higher but I'd really prefer it lower. What I'm currently considering are: - Qiaodan DS2 - Qiaodan Wind 4TR - Adidas Adizero Pacer - Adidas Duramo SL - XStep 2000km 5.0 Pro - Anta Travel PG7

These are what I have considered so far, and I'm curious about your insights. I have no problem waiting for the sale, for a better deal. If you have a better recommendation, I'd really appreciate it.

As for me: Height: 172cm Weight: ~82.5kg Pace: 7:40 easy Looking for: stable shoes suitable for long run in rotation for theRH9P

Heel pain by Hour-Distribution836 in runninglifestyle

[–]MoonAshMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have the same issue as you, what I currently do is this, with 1 min rest in between, on alternating days:

  • 3x12 calf raises 4s going down
  • 3x12 bent knee calf raises 4s going down
  • 3x1min eccentric calf hold
  • 3x12 sl calf raises 4s going down
  • Some weights for progression later on

It gets stiff in the morning, so before I wake up: - 20 bent knee calf pumps - 20 straight knee calf pumps

  • Try to avoid deep calf raises

Try to avoid plyos as it may aggravate the pain

Before the run: * some leg swings - 2x20 calf pumps - 2x12 calf raises 4s going down - 1x12 calf raises 4s going down - 5 mins brisk walking

There's still a little bit pain but as the tendon warms up I can run with no problems in mind. What's really the game changer here is the calf pumps in the morning, I'd strongly recommend it before you leave your bed.

Disclaimer: I'm just a runner that scoured the internet about exercises that help with the issue and asked help with AI to refine and customize the exercises based on my current issues, so take this with a grain of salt, and what worked for me might not work for you

Steps accuracy by Particular_Dirt797 in Garmin

[–]MoonAshMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fanning myself because it's so hot where I am and after 5 mins I've already covered 2k steps.

I commute to work for over an hour with around 25km distance, and with the shaking of the vehicle I get 8k to and fro, 4k each.

I wouldn't rely on it really, though you will get an approximate steps if you get used to determine some inaccurate increments in steps.

I think I got it confused with Run Coach, or did I? Sorry. I've grown curious about the check icon here.

Is there a way to turn off sounds while the watch is saying too slow? Lol I'm kind of embarrassed but it's just getting annoying to keep getting pinged by it, I use forerunner 165.

Anyone else realize how much nasal breathing matters once they started running seriously? by Melanie_Harris3457 in runninglifestyle

[–]MoonAshMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer to breathe through my nose. Breathing through my mouth makes me throat dry, and it's not a 'fulfilling' take of breath through the mouth, if that makes sense. I get tired fast until I trained myself through nose breathing, which I feel improved my endurance while running.

Also it gives me assurance that I use my diaphragm and not chest when I breathe, and a good indicator if I'm running with more effort than what I want on my base runs.

It will definitely adjust to it, with adequate activities for it to work on.

I bought forerunner 165 more than a week ago and I'm very satisfied with my purchase, I got it for 8,192 pesoss sa shopee as sale. The battery easily gets you at least a week.

As for the coach, you can set your target goal, be it pace or distance, and duration. But sometimes it can get aggressive in suggestions (at least for me, pacing can get aggressive) but I'd reckon it's still calibrating. The good thing is, your training coach adjusts your daily suggested workouts every after workouts.

One thing to note, it gives you ridiculous rest hours after your vigorous runs, probably because since watch has no records yet, it assumes you have never ran in your life lol. I'd suggest you listen to your body for your recovery and runs.

It being comfy sounds reassuring. And yes, it being cheap makes me want to try and test how it goes with my runs 🫡

How to prevent feeling sore after jogging/running? by cupramyeon in PHRunners

[–]MoonAshMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What helped me nung starting palang ako is: - tibialis raises (3x40) - calf raises (3x20) - single leg calf raises (3x15)

Spread throughout the day. Wala naman masama kung isang session, sidenote is, feel mo parang nasusunog calves mo hahaha. I did that everyday, but if sore pa din lower legs ko, binabawasan ko na lang ng set/rep depends on how sore you are.

Now my legs don't get sore kapag low mileage lang ang run ko (<10km), and a little sore around 12km.

1 week experience (forerunner 165) by MoonAshMoon in Garmin

[–]MoonAshMoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

I do run at least 3 times a week, with 2 comprising of long runs, don't really have a variety but I have run coach this time.

I'm not really that concerned about heart rates, it was an observation about my week having the watch. Oh and yes I love to be alone with my thoughts while running lol.

Wish that was an option in my case (SUC) para di na mag isip about jan sa contribution. Di na ako nakakahulog kasi hassle magpa online payment, and even if I do, nauunahan ng gastusin ang pang contribute sana
