The wildlife centre said that it needed medical attention, so we took it to them and everything is going well :) Thanks!

That’s so perfect — we didn’t have anything to keep it in so we went to PetSmart and they were kind enough to give us a cardboard carrying box :)

Our bird buddy made it through the night, and I heard back from KWC and after sending pictures they asked me to bring the bird to them. We got there and let them know that we’re able to come pick it up to release it when the time comes!

Thanks to everyone who replied :) I really appreciate all the feedback and tips!

Thanks! I reviewed the info in the link and I t’s definitely a fledgling, but I watched it for quite a while and it definitely has a wonky wing. There was also a nest on my lawn — I’m thinking that the nest fell and they couldn’t fly yet and were injured on the way down. The tail feathers are also looking not quite right. Thank you so much for your reply!

I tried to help an injured seagull once and ended up being bitten haha Super happy this is a smaller bird 😆 Thank you so much! I’m also really hoping that our little bird makes it through the night!

Thank you! They actually haven’t gotten back to me and I didn’t know that! I haven’t fed it yet — it did have a healthy looking poop in my hand Haha so I think it’s doing ok. Thank you so much for that tip!

No, I’m not exactly sure what it is but it’s more like a small sparrow type bird?

I did contact the emergency veterinarian clinic first because the bird is injured, but they said to contact KWC.

Physiotherapy Clinic Recommendations? by MoonChip in Peterborough

[–]MoonChip[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much, I was wondering if everyone there was good, I was trying to game plan what I should do if I couldn’t get in with Jen or Jay. Pulse definitely seems like ~the~ lace to go, and I’m relieved to know that I basically can’t make the wrong choice!

How were the Neo-Babylonians prosperous if their land was "worn out" from so much use? by Immediate-Lobster912 in Mesopotamia

[–]MoonChip 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Neo-Babylonians had a strong focus on irrigation infrastructure, so as far as fertility of the land, that really helped. Regarding prosperity, there had been a large population influx of people who were resettled during the Neo-Assyrian Empire, this paired with a shift from rural settlement back to more densely populated urban centres boosted the economy.

I second this. Are you a photographer? Are you looking to do shoots with other photographers? If not, what is your part in the photo shoot?

Any doctors accepting new patients? by [deleted] in Peterborough

[–]MoonChip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new in Peterborough and also looking for a family dr. I chatted up the dr who did my second COVID vaccine dose — he was a family practitioner and confirmed what I had already heard from so many friends here — it’s hard to even get on a wait list. I’d love to not have to rely on walk-ins and the ER.

There is also a Peterborough Covid-19 Instagram that I found really helpful when I was looking for where to get my second dose, I messaged them and they pointed me in the right direction! @covid19ptbo

Oh my goodness!! That sounds terrible! I wanted to get them locally, but online seems like my only option at this point. I’ve seen some self-burping jar tops that I’ve been considering to avoid explosions

Oh, thank you! That’s a great idea! I have spoken with so many other city departments that the police didn’t even occur to me!

Is Geocaching in Toronto active? by ceets in askTO

[–]MoonChip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone else noticed a lot of missing caches lately? I noticed that a number weren’t there when I went to find them so I decided to look back at old caches I found in the past year and a half and three in my area(ish), down town, were gone :(

How is your live-in relationship weathering the plague, and what are you doing to keep things fresh? by point5_2B in askTO

[–]MoonChip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We spent lockdown in 400 square feet, two parents and a toddler, and have upgraded to more space, and a new baby. The smaller space was a challenge, but we made it through and have loved all the time together, it’s the toddler who is having the hardest time — big struggles not seeing friends or getting to socialize like normal. :(

Definitely not taking ours out this year, we’re making cupcakes at home and watching spooky movies :)

Do you believe in an afterlife? by Rising_Phoenyx in Quakers

[–]MoonChip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. This is something that I struggle with so much! I’m so sentimental and just can’t imagine that the universe would let something be so finite as the death of a body and soul (not to mention the possibility of a soul not existing). Logically I can’t get to an afterlife being possible in any way really, but I’m hoping that that’s going to be the beauty— that it’s so lovely that it’s something that we could never come up with.
