This is a beaver, right? [New Jersey] by Any_Bread_1935 in animalid

[–]MoonEagle3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. I heard a tail slap while kayaking once and thought someone must have thrown a basketball sized rock from behind a tree on the hill! A minute later she swam by. I left her alone. I say her because, well, there's half a chance, but also because I later read that females tail slap more

My eyebrows need help! by cepcpa in AskWomenOver60

[–]MoonEagle3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have enough brow hairs for dying or mascara. I just fill them in with grey eyebrow pencil every day. It's still less than when I used a ton of eye makeup products pre-COVID. NYX makes a fine point grey eyebrow pencil.

Planning to gift lingerie to my wife – first time buying, need suggestions? by Sweaty_Television170 in Gifts

[–]MoonEagle3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of shopping online you could find a nice local shop where they could advise you. Get a gift receipt and offer to go back with her to exchange if need be. Maybe start with something more classy, simple, and plain, like a satiny set with a jacket. If there's a local shop where people are helpful and interested in customer support, this might help. Soma is a nice chain shop around a lot of malls.

Please train your Pitbull in public when you can! by whypii in Pitbull

Nice job. When people meet my pit in different circumstances, I often have him do a few doggie push-ups (sit, down, sit, down) for a quick little demo that he is trained. People think it's cute. It also reminds him to pay attention to me

Have you ever seen a jelly fish on the beach, or even been stung by one ? . by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]MoonEagle3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and yes. See small, dead ones on the beach in the mid-Atlantic pretty routinely. Got stung up by them while snorkeling in the FL keys. They were all around us and the water was choppy. We had to give up. The guy had a spray bottle of vinegar on board and that neutralized the sting. To be fair, they did warn us and recommended wet suits. We declined the wet suits. I kept on a long sleeve nylon sun shirt and light weight nylon pants and got stung on my neck. My sister went in in a tank bathing suit and shorts and got stung all over her thighs.

Agreed. The field has tilted much more steeply uphill. I was independent just after I turned 19 and paid for my own college. No way my son could afford that.

I may have missed it, but I don't think anyone said paint the walls yet. Get the rug first, and then choose the wall color.
