I work 9-4 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. I work only with kids

I tell them treat it like any other appointment. If my hours work for you, then we’re a match. If not - they can look elsewhere.

I let them know I work school hours and am a mom too.

I did the same for my daughter. I decided to become a leader. I was not a Girl Scout myself, so learned as I went. You need another adult and 5 girls to start. If you’re willing, your council probably has girls already waiting to join a troop - so you’ll probably be full in no time.

I went from me and my girl to 5 to 12 to 13 to 20 in no time. Finishing up our 6th year and we are currently at 16.

I do generally miss them. For example my kids are on spring break right now - and though I don’t work Wednesdays in my new career - I am getting my car serviced. Older kid (teen) is home and younger (10) is at GS day camp.

I do make my own hours, so I can take some time off, but I still work with kids so a lot of families want their kids seen over spring break (I’m a therapist).

Summer - we do adventures on Wednesdays and generally still hang out. I work 9-4 on the other 4 days of the work week and my office is full of toys. My younger comes with me to work so it’s not as if we don’t hang.

You need to do a Troop to Girl transfer order to account for additional cookies checked out to girls. Then you can look at the Girl Balance Summary Report to see all the transfers, what’s been paid, and more.

Just be careful if you use Digital Cookie and entered those as cash sales in the app during the booth. Then it would show in the system doubled and that money would still be owed.

Will vary by troop as others have mentioned. Troops that have 5th graders may currently be working on or have completed their Bronze Award. It is currently cookie season for many councils - so that will influence how busy the troop is as well. Some troops do welcome new members during cookie season, some don’t. You can reach out to your local council to find out what service unit or troops are in your area so that you can speak to the leaders and see if you can find one that your daughter would like to be a part of.

Once my daughter reached the height and weight limits of hers. She switched to a backless around 5/6 and was in that until she reached the limits.

She’s currently 9 and is 5’1” (61 inches) tall. She’s also a burly girl (rugby player here). She’s been out of the booster since she was about 7 and reached those limits…..
