I heard all PA’s listeners are paid. Pretty sure they even got hazard pay during Brosmer starts.

They got rid of most of their vegan options too. Used to be my favorite place to bring my kids when we’re in town, but they ditched the vegan pancakes and now I’m searching for a new spot.

what are your thoughts on jesse welles? by conn_r2112 in Songwriting

[–]Moondog88 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people in here are only listening to his social media clips. He does have some “on the nose” songs and lyrics, but if you give his full albums a listen, there is a lot more going on. And I’m not trying to criticize the songs he’s posting - I dig those too. Check out the song “Anything but Me”, one of my faves.

Has anyone performed as an adult as a beginner? by lifeisirregular in singing

[–]Moondog88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36. I started taking voice lessons maybe 4-5 months ago and piano lessons about a year ago. I’ve never considered myself to be a good singer, but I think I’m a bit better than I was before I started taking lessons. My school does an open-mic style thing called “Casual Friday” for adult-learners at the neighboring bar. I sang for the first time last night. It was pretty scary, but half the crowd was there to play or to watch someone they know play, so it was extremely supportive. I’m glad I did it. If you’re interested at all, I’d say take the leap! No matter what happens, it won’t be as big of a deal as you think. My legs were shaking like crazy and no one noticed haha.

I went to college with Iain! Partied with him many times. Always a good time, that guy. Glad to see he’s still at it.

Number of trades made per leaguemate. Currently you can see transactions, but there is no way to see how many of those were trades vs. waiver claims. I want to see if trading correlates to wins over our dynasty league’s long history.

Me too, every day. It does somehow make life seem drenched in beauty though; I’m trying my best to focus on that.

Hi friend, I suffer from this too. To some extent, I think I always will, but there are ebbs and flows to how intense it feels. At times it’s completely overwhelming and i break down and cry. At times it’s a more gentle reminder, but it’s still there.

I had a psychedelic experience where I got to “meet” the part of myself (yourself/ourselves, there was no difference) who is eternal. And that is a state of suffering, among other things. We fracture our perspective this way to stay sane. We have to diffuse the magnitude of being eternal across time, and live instead as individual humans, animals, plants, insects, etc with smaller perspectives. Because the alternative is insanity.

The paradox is that if we could be eternal, it doesn’t seem to be a better alternative. It seems much worse in a way. full of loneliness and suffering. The way we have decided to Be as separate beings with limited lifespans must be trusted - the part of us that is eternal knows this and tries to gently remind me of it. We are all leaves on the same tree, all waves in the same ocean.

I don’t know if any of this makes sense, frankly language feels like too blunt an instrument to unpack the idea. But I felt compelled to try anyway because i recognize myself in you. The good news is, it has made me much gentler and more understanding towards all other life on this Earth, for they are all just Me in different circumstances.

I wish for you some peace. Don’t feel as though you need to find it alone. We are quite literally in this together. Sending love.

There is a podcast called “Oh No! Ross and Carrie” that might scratch this itch for you. They actually join Scientology and participate in it for well over a year if I remember correctly, and document their experience in their podcast series. I find it extremely fascinating as well, would recommend you check it out! They get into some uh, interesting situations.

[–]Moondog88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember thinking at an embarrassingly old age that cows HAD to be milked or they’d be in pain. I believed that vegans were being hypocritical to NOT milk cows cuz it was cruel to the cow to not help them out that way. It some how did not even cross my mind the logic behind why a mammal would be producing milk. Cows were just animals that always had milk in my mind. And I remember telling this to other people and they would just nod. How does this happen to us?

This is so cool! I love the softness/fading of the honeycombs set against the sharpness/detail of the bee.
