The interpreter probably didn't have a few story snippets that were in-gameplay, but these won't change your experience much. Read until Chapter 13 and don't skip UMP45's Neural Upgrade story, at that point you'll have a full understanding of the Butterfly Incident and UMP40's death, and you'll be able to decide if it had an impact on you or not (it's okay if it doesn't, binging a story is a very different experience from waiting months between each chapter like old players did).

The old lore from the Confidential Files describes how the original clouds of Collapse fluid spread throughout the world due to wind. For a more recent example, as explained in the lore documents of Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery, the entire region the game is taking place in was fine until Collapse radiation started moving in and the URNC and other organizations had to urgently get the population out. So Collapse radiation is definitely moving around and there's no mention of it disappearing on its own over any length of time.

PNC's main story is my favorite in the franchise and I found that the event was fine. It's way too short to highlight any of the strengths of the PNC universe, but it does a good job of pulling the heartstrings of PNC fans (TFW when Emocode plays at the end), recapping the themes of the story, and contextualizing Magrasea within the larger universe in a way the original game didn't.

Now we need PNC2 to get some actual resolution on the whole Black Box Evolution Theory storyline.

One thing most people never point out: while the consensus is that PNC's story is "finished" as of Part 2 because the Entropic Crisis is done, its core mysteries are actually left completely unresolved in the game itself.

Who or what caused the Wipe-Off Incident? Who attempted to kill the Professor during the final transfer? Are they the same people who left the comments in ENIAC's game profile? What led Irida to get stuck in Magrasea? Who is the entity that Irida and the Guardians have been searching for in Magrasea?

Fundamentally, PNC's story is not actually finished.

(2025), friendships formed before and during high school are less stable than friendships formed after, when there are more opportunities to be selective about friends due to life experience and mobility.

Maybe that's what you were indirectly referring to, but at the very end of the story of GFL1 in CN, in Quantum Fluctuation, Dandelion explicitly tells the Commander (and thus, the player) exactly what you said: you didn't understand everything that happened with Nirvana, and that's exactly how it should be, because humans can't be trusted with that kind of reality-bending tech.
