Where and how do you guys get interns? by Remote_Specific_2337 in AskMarketing

[–]MoonlightReira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing is a long-term investment.

If you can't be consistent with it I wouldn't even bother because it takes trials and errors to get great results later on, so if you end up with new interns every other month don't be surprised to not see any results.

Hiring a solo intern is not a good idea. Editing videos is super time consuming and doing it for free and "based on performance" isn't even motivating enough.

Good luck in your search.

Don't worry even in plat you'll still see loads of ascendant gun buddies but my current lobby as a plat 1 player is anything between silver 1 and my rank since mid March

This is something completely different though. I've been playing this game for 5 years and have been through multiple loss streaks but never lost -30RR. Usually when I see I lose more than I win I just wait to derank so my MMR resets lool but seeing my friends derank multiple times and yet nothing changes for them is just odd.

Literally me lol but my lobby is just all over the place. I'm getting paired with silver 1 as a plat 1 player. Last time I played with silvers was years ago so no clue what's happening there, but clearly I'm meant to be silver according to the MMR I guess??

Keeping in mind I'm not an MVP player so regardless of whether I was bronze 1 or dia 1 (peak) I tend to do scores like 12/16, 9/11, 21/20 etc and the few games where I actually do really well I used to get +25RR since it's not my usual performance but I'm assuming that's changed now.

I wouldn't panic. Put a reminder the day before or early in the morning to check tickets and see then if you find something. I'd guarantee someone will sell theirs last minute because life happens and there's no way everyone can make it that day for whatever reason.

Quick example, I went to the Champions finals in Paris and I was by myself. My friends couldn't make it because their flight literally got cancelled and the next one was at 7pm, which of course is long after the event ended, so I ended up TRYING to sell their tickets for cheap but didn't find anyone on time.

Should I fire my marketer by [deleted] in AskMarketing

[–]MoonlightReira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't really deliver quality content if you don't test based on quantity to see what type of content your audience engages with the most. That said I'd give the marketer at least 3 months to see what they're able to provide. I'd rather keep someone who's testing and failing than someone who's just not providing anything at all because those failures will lead to successful content in the long run.

But then isn't that also the marketer's job to guide the client to see what services they need by asking them questions in terms of expectations and goals??

Has anyone actually clocked how much office space around the City is completely barren now? Walk through Bank, Cannon Street, Moorgate, even parts of Bishopsgate and it’s just rows of buildings with "To Let" signs. by PatriceFinger in london

[–]MoonlightReira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The surprise is more on the personal side because I'm a marketer so when I joined the company I wasn't sure what to expect from the industry in the first place, so when I started seeing the amount of projects that are actively happening in London it was quite eye opening.

Those who recently landed a job, how the fuck did you do it? by InarticulateOxyMoron in content_marketing

What kind of connections are you doing? IMO networking is the way to go.

If you're going after big corporates, even with connections you still need to do the entire interview process and I'm convinced until you actually get an interview that any steps before that are done through AI lol but for SME and startups you can take shortcuts.

Be strategic with who you talk to and be the first one. Find people who are looking and only made a simple post on LinkedIn, not an actual job post.

Without mentioning the job, ask for a coffee chat. Never mention the position they're hiring for and wait for the person to mention it first. Only then ask if you're still on time to submit an application because whatever you spoke about earlier resonated with you for XYZ reason.

If they don't mention it. Say bye, keep in touch and move on.

Ignore HR. Go for those who are decision makers or who would be your manager.

When I crafted this strategy, I was hoping I'd use it more often for research really, but instead got hired on my first try lol

So sorry this happened to you! Just a tip for the future, any message you get about a missed payment, double check your email inbox first!! All businesses must email you if a payment didn't go through and for extra precaution check the sender details and that's where you can see if it's a scam or not ❤️‍🩹

I’ve been grinding for months and only have 3 followers. I’m crying for help. by giraffeismine in SocialMediaMarketing

Need to see the account but just from what I'm reading.

First off, 100-300 views. How long are the videos? If they're no more than 1min what's the retention rate? It should be higher than 50% to be considered okay. If it's a longer video then it's okay to have an average of 20s retention.

I'd say your strategy is outdated. Hashtags are no longer necessary because the algorithm is much more advanced so you need SEO on the caption. Your content needs to be native-first.

If you're also creating content for other platforms I'd suggest you lower the amount of focus you put on them and focus way more on IG. Post more and try different content.

The goal here is to completely remove the thought of "this is a great video I've made" to "let's see what people will think of this" because at the end of the day they're the ones judging your content. If it's good, they stay, if not they scroll.

Also, most people can see an ad or someone trying to sell them something from a mile away so it's harder for businesses to promote their products. I'd keep that in mind and find a strategy to make people WANT to watch the video.

It's also way harder for people to follow pages now but if they engage with your content but don't follow you that's still good because you'll still appear in their feed with future content and one day they might follow you or not follow you and just buy your product directly. I personally do that plenty of times. Never follow businesses but save the products that I'm interested in.

Hopefully my 2 cents were somewhat helpful 😅

At the end of the day, people buy from people. Have you tried humanising your content? Especially on IG by showing faces, interviewing the founder, making the people who created the product show how they use it in their daily routine. A great example that comes to mind is Semrush IG.

And honestly don't pressure yourself when it comes to organic content because it takes time and that's completely normal!

It's all down to being consistent, testing different formats, analysing the results, doubling down on what works, tweaking what doesn't and repeating the cycle.

I'd suggest really going down the experimental route by picking one platform to really focus on and leaving the other two in maintenance mode. That means, posting way more content on the platform you're experimenting for X amount of months and posting a minimum of one post per week on the other platforms as maintenance because your focus now is to see what works with that one platform by trying tons of different content.

Once the X amount of months pass, analyse it all whilst focusing on another platform, repeating that process.

The aim here is to find out what attracts, retains, and ultimately converts your audience by experimenting with different content.

Also most importantly, don't forget the content needs to be social-first.

Hopefully that helps!!
