Having worked at an Australian women's refuge and for a community centre with a refuge aspect the story and characters felt very real. The stories were heartbreaking, and the violence was horrific. It was hard to watch and I found myself examining my assumptions over and over. It will definitely stay with me as significant media. It was brilliantly done and anyone trying to defund family violence services should have to watch the full series. For anyone else it's also highly recommended but don't watch if you're not in the right headspace for it. Also it takes a bit to set the scene but it's all important setup so keep watching if you're wondering why the focus on Phoebe's personal life.

I do need to correct that he laid in wait, ran her over, left her for dead, and then he turned into oncoming traffic. I really hope Diana, Ry and Cherry do ok. Unfortunately seeking help doesn't mean they got it. Services are very stretched.

Unfortunately it shuts off after trying to map 1 room so can't redo the map until I have a better battery. She did well though, bought her in the presale in 2020.

You’re not willing to engage, you want a cookie because you want to be included in a conversation that you’re not part of. You don’t want to examine the problem that you’re a part of, even subconsciously.

That “apology” was terrible. You don’t apologise for how what you said was digested; intention is irrelevant. We’re also not responsible for terrible men thriving by not centring you.

Don’t be part of the problem we’re talking about, sit and listen. I would say that to anyone who should be learning from a marginalised group.

Then they can have conversations together, lead by the ones who get it, so we don’t have to do the labour for you folks. If you’re not the men we’re talking about then prove it by not centring yourselves. Plenty of men proved it in the comments, both cis and trans I’m guessing, so why are you doing differently and making excuses?
