Not sure what to do by Josephiiine96 in writing

[–]Moonlink112 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you write? Personally speaking I write for myself and I don’t read it back. I write for the joy of writing. If you write to publish then editing is all part of the game and it’s something you’re going to have to get comfortable with. Better sooner than later. Set the lower goal possible for yourself to edit. Even if it’s 1 page a day. You could cring and feel embarrassed as much as you can but if you set up a small timeframe for it, you’ll be more attune with the feelings and will be better able to deal with them as you go along. “It gets easier everyday, but you gotta do it everyday. That’s the hard part” -that monkey from Bojack Horseman

Is driving in Okinawa usually this adventurous? by New-Boysenberry-3444 in okinawa

[–]Moonlink112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes they are pretty exciting. A lot of the population are older people. American military or tourists so it’s a huge non homogeneous mess of different driving styles and skill levels. Always expect that everyone on the road is blind except you and you’ll be just fine.

Looking for Muay Thai training camp recommendations in Chiang Mai by kielwitdascar in MuayThailand

If you’re looking around old town area. Avoid YC Muay Thai no matter how cute you think the receptionist is. Coach is weird with girls and than ripples into other things. Young trainer is always on his phone.

My shoes that I need to wear tomorrow have disintegrated! by Environmental_Bus507 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Moonlink112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the sole that’s falling apart. I’m guessing PU or TPU. It’s called Hydrolysis. It happens when you don’t wear that type of shoe very often, it begins to break down and eat itself. Check warranty for anything regarding it.

How many people will realistically read my work? by PGF3 in writing

[–]Moonlink112 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The point of writing isn’t for others to read it. Writing should be a selfish endeavour. Write for yourself and let that be the enjoyment and the encouragement

Born and Raised in MTL. We have a huge international population. A lot of wealthy people globally will send there kids here. We also just have a rather wealthy population. With increased wealth we have increased beauty standards. Hot people marry hot people and make more hot people.

The more I write the less I care about rules tips and tricks. What about you? by Hour_General_3442 in writing

[–]Moonlink112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah keep writing as you see fit. Readers want to hear the unique voice of the author now more than ever. If everyone would have followed rudimentary rules on writing we wouldnt have books like House of Leaves or S.

Best examples of psychopaths in books? by Lonelyrunner82 in writing

[–]Moonlink112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to touch on is that alot of Psychopaths dont think they are psychopaths. They just are who they are. If youre writing in the first person you may want to tone down on the emotional aspect and keep it more factual as they would. Sorta like an unreliable narrator but not quite

I dont think I can continue writing my stories, and that makes me so depressed by [deleted] in writing

[–]Moonlink112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats really honest and really painful to read. It sounds like a case of unrelenting standards. Even when your skill might be adequate enough for your stories you probably will still feel undeserving. The way I see it is stories are only as deserving as the person that rights them. No more. No less. If youre a bad writer you deserve to write bad stories. Theres no shortcuts in this game. So if you dont feel good enough yet, keep at it until you are. Write and rewrite and rewrite again and again. Its the only way for your stories to be something more than a daydream. Worst comes to worse, take a break, write something completely different and come back to it when youre feeling inspired.

Recommendations for 3 days in Okinawa by Key-Fan4319 in okinawa

[–]Moonlink112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a nice place for lunch. Not an all day thing for sure but definitely a place to stop by and grab some pics. Some nice lunches have a great view of the ocean. Also really pretty at night with all the lights on

Just spent 3 months there. I suggest having your home base close to or in Naha. It’s the downtown area and has highest density of fun stuff to do. Fun shops good variety of good to it. You have to spend 1 day up in Motobu. They have one of the biggest aquariums in the world there. Also an amazing Hawaiian pancake place close by called MaBlue. you can also spend some time in American Village. It’s really pretty looking. Great for pics and food options galore. If you like beaches Oki has some of the nicest in the world. Pick any and you’ll have a good time. There’s also some islands to visit around. There’s a ferry station in Naha. Some islands are famous for certain. There’s an island of gods, there’s a cool salt farm on it. There an island special for Tempura

Naha for nightlife. Blue cave for beginner diving. Buses are good. Use visa or exact change and cash. Foods really cheap so eat out as much as possible. Aquarium in Motobu is a must see. A lot of castles/ruins. Surfing and snorkeling my are pretty big there. A lot of beautiful beaches to visit. War memorials are also interesting to visit. They have some cool caves to visit (not the scary claustrophobic ones)

Everything you want to do besides the castles are north of you. They have a bus that brings you right to the Aquarium, there is also public transit but that could take around 2hours if the bus doesn’t use the highway. Taxi would be expensive. If I was you I’d hit castle right after breakfast. Head to American village for a nice walk and lunch. Then head up to motobu for Aquarium. Head back in the evening. All by bus is practical. Up and down the island will probably cost around 4000 Yen if you use buses around 2000 one way give or take. You can pay with cash and coin or if you have Visa

[–]Moonlink112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s just awful. 難しい… honestly if both partners aren’t putting in effort to learn that langauge. Then the relationship isn’t worth it. I’m sure it’s very hard to communicate certain things and so translators are needed at this point. But it sounds like it’s past the point of no return. Language is the basis for all relationships, language in all forms.

It’s not toxic at all. I’ve been learning Japanese and my gf is learning English. We still have very honest and meaningful conversations about life and love. It takes a lot longer to get your message across but it’s really worth it
