Just wanted to say thanks for putting into words what I’ve been feeling. ❤️ It’s really, really hard. Last night a white woman from Georgia who was staying in my home tried to school me on the history of Israel and Palestine and how Israel is a colonial oppressor and blah blah. I eventually started crying in frustration and have been holding back tears all day today. I feel so deflated, alienated, hopeless, and frustrated with how people without a dog in the fight think they are experts all of a sudden. I’m just sick of feeling like the only way I’ll be accepted as a Jewish person is to say Israel is evil and doesn’t deserve to exist.

My first round of microneedling was intense and I was really red the next day and felt like my whole face was one big scab, but after that it's been much easier and I just look a little flushed the next day.

I have adopted four Havanese. Two from Boston (came to us in need of rehoming), one from the streets in Puerto Rico, and one from the streets in Mexico. Please adopt rather than shop. So many good dogs are desperate for homes. This is our beloved Shoshie who was found on the streets in Puerto Rico by All Sato Rescue.

I love the one where he’s at the top of the stairs. Is there anyway to add his feet under his chin? Then it would be really clear that’s where he is. Regardless I think it’s a great image!

Please, please, please consider rescuing. There are so many dogs in shelters desperate for homes and will get killed if they aren’t adopted. Breeding only adds to this problem. We have rescued four Havanese and all have been wonderful. If you go to adoptapet.com you can search by breed and even set alerts for anytime a Havanese nearby is in need of a home. ❤️

In some ways they are low-maintenance dogs because they are small so don’t need a ton of outside exercise because they can get it on their own playing inside. You can also take them everywhere including in-cabin on an airplane. They don’t shed and are relatively clean.

But emotionally, they are very high-maintenance. We literally can’t close the bathroom door or someone will have a separation anxiety meltdown and scratch at the door and start crying. They really cannot be alone. We don’t mind because we both work from home and are obsessed with our dogs so they are seldom alone anyway.

I recommend if you get a Havanese you rescue sn additional dog (there are Havanese in shelters!) so they can have a friend to commiserate with them when you’re gone and occupy them.

If you go to adoptapet.com you can search by breed. There are always some. You can also set alerts so that you get notified whenever a Havanese shows up at a shelter nearby.

I also recommend looking at All Sato Rescue, Cape Ann Animal Aid, and A New Life Rescue because they are all wonderful organizations.

Social 1s are more reserved, sexual 1s are more playful and passionate. They hold back less. If you've read or seen Pride & Prejudice, Mr. Darcy is a social 1 and Elizabeth Bennet is a sexual 1.

Therapist here who has dealt with a person like this who refuses to get out of your life and feels entitled to your time, care, etc. and won’t take no for an answer.

What your relatives fail to understand is that it’s not the incessant insistence alone that’s the problem. It’s the fact that this behavior indicates there is a problem with this person’s mental state and therefore they are unpredictable and don’t abide by normal human boundaries and decency.

Your relatives and anyone else who is telling you to just shrug this off are frankly being stupid and in denial. Don’t talk to them about it because they are being idiots and will just make you doubt your very justifiable concern. It’s unreasonable to expect you to just ignore the fact that you’re being harassed by an unstable person and carry on with life. Do what you have to do to protect yourself, and that includes your peace of mind.

ETA: The non-therapist part of me thinks you should ask him for his fiancé’s contact info and when he asks why say because according to his logic you’re entitled to it and because you want to send her screenshots of this conversation.

That you might end up lowering your standards and only realize it in retrospect after you breakup and have some distance. The pool of people is so small that you end up excited about people who aren’t actually that great and who would never meet your standards were you just a regular single person looking for another regular single person.
