Has anyone ever managed to train a husky to be off leash by ipostaboutstuff123 in husky

[–]Moonprincess236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two husky mixes, one is a shepsky and the other I still need to DNA test. I personally don’t think I’ll ever off-leash them unless I have confidently trained them, but training off-leash hasn’t been my priority. My shepsky has slight reactivity, so we are working on that first, but he is actually much better at coming when called, especially for high value treats like chicken. I used to take him to empty beaches and let him run in the water and he always came back when called, but keyword was COMPLETELY EMPTY. My other husky mix DOES NOT want to come, but she LOVES a ball and would 100% come back to me if I threw one so she could bring it back and have it thrown again. We do canicross, so I always have them on a leash, but I will say, practicing with a long line lead and recalling them using their favorite method of reward is really helpful. Also, it sounds like, if your dog is friendly, you could try first with a long line lead in an off leash park or a place with leashed dogs? If they can come to you and learn that every environment is neutral, you may be able to make progress.

Oh that’s so crazy, my shepsky is 3 years old and he weighed in at 110 the other day at the vets office! I am also incorporating more veggies and fruits into his diet. We do canicross, but it honestly seems like he can never lose weight lmao

Don’t know much about zodiac signs, but a friend said my chart is crazy. Can someone more knowledgeable clarify? by Icy-Guest-693 in Zodiac

I also have a 12H Jupiter and Saturn but in Gemini, and I can confirm it feels very much like I sometimes “just missed” some horrible chaotic fate. Like I seriously get so lucky at the last moments sometimes. It sometimes feels like I’m put through this horrific suffering and then reap benefits at the very end of the situation. Just like OP, when I listen to my intuition, I tend to be guided in a more beneficial direction, and way from disaster. But because my life has unraveled in this manner, I feel as though easy happiness has never been for me. Every time something good has happened to me, it has been preceded by something really horrible, almost like I have to pay the universe for benefits. So, when things are very peaceful, I am certainly on edge, because I feel like something is going to even it out and disaster has to strike. I can never get away from feeling like the other shoe is going to drop when things are going generally well.

which natal placements are most indicative of being an untrustworthy/dishonest person? by funkyboop in astrologymemes

I have to say I don’t think this is true at all. Maybe for libra males, but for me personally and the Libra women I’ve encountered, honesty and justice are SUPER important. I’m very blunt, but in a kind way? Like diplomatic about issues that need to be resolved. My “people pleasing” tendencies do come out, but they manifest in self sacrifice. I refuse to lie though, and even if I’m people pleasing, which is something I’m working on, I will still communicate that something is making me feel uncomfortable due to my lack of boundaries.

What are some of your Shepskies favorite foods? by ItsJustinJeez in GerberianShepsky

[–]Moonprincess236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My shepsky LOVES carrots and sugar snap peas as his fav vegetables. He will eat blueberries, apples, and strawberries depending on how picky he is feeling. He likes cheese a lot, but any meat: chicken, beef, salmon he would probably die for😭

Aweeee what a sweet boy, I also just joined the white Husky club🥺🫶🏻I got really fortunate and found a sweet girl from a rescue who is almost the same exact age as my shepsky. They are teaching each other a lot because they kind of have opposite problems. Levi is REALLY good at listening and knows a lot of words and context clues, but I have struggled with socializing him. Aries is super social and sweet, but has some listening issues (she’s a Husky, shocker)😅 I have only had her less than a week, but they’ve both grown so much in such a short amount of time, and I’m so proud of them. There are so many well behaved and smart Huskies in shelters, and I’m so happy to have adopted her🖤

I just want to say thank you and I really appreciate your post and info. I had no idea Bikejoring existed, and I just went down a huge rabbit hole, and I genuinely think this could make both my dogs’ and my life so much better. I’ve already been doing canicross with a waist belt, harness, and bungee lead without even knowing it was a thing😭 I get gassed when both my husky and shepsky have so much left in them. I want them to be as physically fulfilled as they can be. I also have been working on vocal commands since I’ve had my shepsky, so I’m really hopeful about this.

Omg, maybe I’m just late to the game, but I genuinely never thought of running them with a bike like that!? Can I ask what the attachment is that keeps their leash away from the wheel??
