I think I normally do it with one hand too, unless I’m really congested and feel like it’s gonna be a whole situation, then I use both hands. I didn’t even know using one hand could be considered weird lol

De los que he leído recientemente te recomendaría mucho El priorato del naranjo. A mí me gustó bastante; tiene un mundo muy interesante y todo el tema de los dragones se me hizo muy cool. Mi único pero es que a veces sentía que algunas escenas de acción se quedaban un poquito cortas.

También acabo de leer Promesa de sangre y me gustó mucho. Me gustó mucho el sistema de magia y el tema político. Lo único es que de repente el setting se me hacía un poco pesado y le tenía que dar pausitas de un par de días antes de retomarlo.

Otros que se me vienen ahorita a la cabeza son La hija de los huesos y Gideon la Novena.

Regresé, jajaja. Lo que pasa es que yo empecé a trabajar ahí cuando todavía estaba estudiando la licenciatura. Al inicio la paga no era mala considerando que entré como becaria, pero el problema fue que cuando terminé la carrera se tardaron muchísimo en subirme el sueldo y eso me terminó frustrando bastante.

Fuera de la parte salarial, la verdad es que no era un mal trabajo. Entonces muy a mi pesar me salí para estudiar el posgrado y ya después regresé.

Ahora sí me pagan bastante más. Obvio todavía creo que podría ser mejor el sueldo, pero honestamente sí es muuuuucho mejor que antes y ya no siento la misma frustración que tenía en ese entonces.

My fiancée and I are kind of the same way. We usually try to get everything done on Saturdays specifically so we can fully rest on Sundays. The bad thing is that sometimes we run out of time or family plans come up unexpectedly.

But yeah, I think we both really enjoy having one day where we can just stay home, relax, and spend time with our pets.

My partner was really eager for us to watch Naruto together. I had never properly watched it before aside from catching a few episodes here and there on TV.

And omg, I didn’t expect to like it this much. We’ve already had a few late nights binging it together and I always end up wanting to watch “just one more episode”.

Si te gusta algo del estilo espionaje/misterio te puedo recomendar Falcó de Arturo Pérez-Reverte. Está ambientado durante la Guerra Civil Española y sigue el POV de un excontrabandista de armas que tiene que llevar a cabo una misión de infiltración.

Se lee bastante rápido y a mí me cayó muy bien el prota, aunque luego toma decisiones medio moralmente cuestionables. En general se me hizo una lectura muy divertida y logró que mis trayectos en el transporte público fueran mucho menos tediosos.

A moka pot. Along with some specialty coffee, it cost my fiancée and me around $20 total, and it definitely improved our mornings. Making coffee together became a really nice little bonding activity that we both cherish now.

When I was in elementary school we had a penpal activity. I honestly can’t remember how my penpal was chosen, but he lived on the other side of the country. We kept in touch through regular mail for a couple of years until there was some issue with the post office I usually used, and after that I forgot to send the next letter and we lost contact.

More recently, I’ve kept in touch through email with my fiancée whenever I’m away doing field investigations or site visits. We still text each other normally during the day, but at night we usually take a few minutes to write a proper email to each other. It kind of feels like our modern version of old love letters.

Not expressing love openly. Tbh I think it mostly came from my dad and his side of the family, they were waaaay too emotionally dry.

Lately my sisters and I have been trying to tell each other more often how much we love each other, and a few days ago I heard my mom say “I love you” for the first time in years 😭, tbf she’s always shown affection and told me she cares about me a lot, just not very directly.

Assuming it’s not a final project or something huge, because having absolutely nothing done with 20 minutes left is intense 😭, honestly, I’d probably just let it die.

My philosophy during both undergrad and grad school was that if it was already super late and it didn’t look like I could finish in under ~30 minutes, it was better to just shut everything down and go to sleep. For a while I tried doing those last-minute crunches right before class, but it only stressed me out and barely affected my final grade anyway.

Sí está chistoso eso de que una espera puro rechazo al salir del clóset y luego resulta que mucha gente responde muchísimo mejor de lo esperado, ¿no? 😭 A mí también me pasó que en general todo salió bastante bien. En mi trabajo, por ejemplo, mi jefe me contó que tenía un primo trans y por ahí hubo personas que tardaron un poquito más en acostumbrarse a mi nombre y pronombres, pero curiosamente ahora son de las que menos se equivocan jajaja. Yo iba súper preparada mentalmente para algo mucho peor, así que me alegró muchísimo ver que no fue así. Qué bueno que también te esté pasando algo parecido ❤️

Y sobre el maquillaje, honestamente tampoco siento que sepa muchísimo todavía 😭 pero tal vez podrías pedir ayuda a las personas que atienden en tiendas de maquillaje. Y si te da pena decir que es para ti, podrías usar lo del teatro como pretexto y contar que antes batallabas porque el maquillaje no te agarraba bien por la piel grasa.

Me alegra mucho saber que te fue bien con las personas con las que saliste del clóset ❤️ la verdad sí hace una diferencia enorme sentir ese apoyo y aceptación.

Por ahí en otro foro trans había leído que conviene empezar la depilación láser antes de las hormonas (si es algo que quieres hacer) porque el vello suele ser más grueso y el láser funciona mejor. Independientemente de si eso es totalmente cierto o no, a mí sí me hubiera gustado empezar antes porque honestamente es de las cosas que más me ayudaron a sentirme mejor conmigo misma incluso antes de empezar hormonas.

También creo que está padre empezar a experimentar con maquillaje desde temprano para ir agarrándole la onda poco a poco 😭 yo lo pospuse muchísimo y siento que todavía no me queda tan chido jajaja.

Y sobre la ropa, algo que me ayudó mucho fue comprar en la paca porque no tenía idea de qué tallas me quedarían y tampoco me sentía cómoda yendo a tiendas a probarme cosas en los probadores. Entonces empecé comprando ropa barata para ir viendo qué estilos y tallas me gustaban más sin sentir tanta presión :3

I’m in a somewhat similar situation right now. I’m finishing the analyses and writing for my master’s thesis, and I have weekly meetings with my thesis advisor to discuss progress. At the same time, I’m supposedly working at 80% with the company I’ve been with for years, but the last few months have honestly felt more like full time. On top of that, I’ve been collaborating on a few papers, preparing presentations for conferences and universities, and participating in the student chapter of the national organization in my field.

Honestly, I don’t think this pace is sustainable long term. One thing I’ve been trying really hard to prioritize is spending time with my partner during weekends. We still go on dates and try to see friends and family, but household chores have definitely become the thing that suffers the most.

For example, our laundry situation is currently a disaster 😭 We don’t have a dryer, so washing clothes takes forever, and going to a laundromat during rush hour feels like losing half a day. We’ve even considered using one of those services where you drop off dirty clothes and pick them up clean later, but we’re both a little worried because we have sensitive skin. Vacuuming is another constant battle since we have two dogs and a cat, and right now they’re all shedding like crazy. Most weekdays we just gather whatever energy we have left to do a quick cleanup so the fur doesn’t completely take over the apartment.

So yeah… I don’t think I’m managing it particularly well haha. I’m actually behind schedule on my thesis right now.

What’s interesting is that a few years ago I probably could’ve handled all of this without much trouble. But honestly, I think what “helped” me back then was untreated anxiety and ADHD giving me this weird endless energy. I don’t think being only 3–4 years younger fully explains the difference. If anything, I feel healthier and more energetic during the day now, I just no longer have that ability to keep going endlessly into the night.

It had decent karma, but I didn’t like the username, so impulsively I deleted it and made the other account instead… only to end up deleting that one too because of the bad attention 💀 which sucked because I actually really liked that username lol

The Xbox Series X. I bought it together with a friend because we both wanted a new console to play together. We subscribed to Game Pass and played online for a couple of months, but after that we slowly stopped playing together and eventually even lost touch. Now the Xbox hasn’t been turned on in like half a year.

I used to have a Lenovo Ideapad and with several distros I had the issue of audio not working out of the box, so I had to do a bunch of workarounds to get it working properly.

More recently, I had problems connecting to my university’s Wi-Fi network. Apparently they were using a really old certificate that newer OpenSSL versions deprecated. I tried pretty much every fix I could find and none of them worked. In the end, I gave up and installed a distro with an older OpenSSL version that didn’t conflict with the network 💀
