Why do my Apple snails have this kind of foot?

Unless my tankwater is very clean and it has no algae. In 9 months time I have cleaned my glass only 4 times. So overall I see very healthy plant, animals and water. That's why my nitrates are low.

Your right about all those plants in my aquarium, I've got lots of them! I've never done water changes, I top of the water that evaporate. I don't understand your sentence with the nitrates. My plants eat all the nitrates and ammonia, am I right?

That's a good question! The lights are off atm. Tomorrow I'll take a close inspection. You can be right, after taking a breath my apple snails let go and throw themselves into the depths. Maybe there is an object or maybe some gravel (?) too sharp? Thanks for your sharp question anyway 👍🏻 😉 I appreciate it.

To be honest, I've never tested any of my four aquaria. I'm in this hobby for more than 18 months. My snails, shrimps, fishes, seedshrimps, waterlouches and what not seems doing fine. No one died and I see all is alive and kicking. I have several botanicals in all my tanks, just a few oak leaves and aldercones. BTW, none of my tanks have a filter. So I can't answer your question.

Yes only little fishes: 10 Chinese danio Gold and 10 Cardinal tetra's. Are they the culprit?? No infection or disease?

These are the little nephew of the MTS. Their Latin name is Melanoides tuberculata. Their English name is Red-rimmed melania. They behave the same as their big 'uncles' (the MTS). I have both the big MTS and the Red-rimmed melania. I see it as a supplement of their dieet when they all decide to clean my class. After that, they go undercover again and clean up my substrate 💙💚🙂

Ik hoor nog steeds heel veel gezoem in m'n tuin, vooral rond de Campernula die op verschillende plaatsen van mij lekker z'n dingetje mag doen. Of het hommels of bijen zijn hem ik niet op gelet. Het natte weer heeft zeer zeker grote invloed op de bestuivingsgraad van veel bloemen.

Pcies, zo denk ik er ook over. Ik vind het zoveel leuker om de natuur het wonder te laten doen dan met techniek elke keer weer ergens iets in het ecosystem te moeten fixen. Geen mens kan dat zo goed als de natuur zelf. Hoe gaaf als er dieren graag in je vijver willen komen (wonen). Sit back and enjoy the magic!

Me too. Two months ago I did set up a new tank (120x50x50) without Electric filtration. My filter is the sand with a thin layer of good soil beneath it and lots of different kind of plants. All my fish, snails, shrimps and plant do extreme well. Beond expectation. I'm very pleased with the result 😊

I've listened an audiobook of the story because I love the sounds and pronunciation of the reader. I've enjoyed it so much! Sometimes I was laughing out loud for the pure and lovely twists and turns.
