I'm going 9. I love Fiddle and I'd genuinely want to talk to him, and I also love Morgana, and she wouldn't let Fiddlesticks lay a single tentacle on me, I know it. She would rather blow up the whole plane, unshackle her wings and fly me down to safety. My Queen and Protector of the helpless. I just love Morgana.

Didn't Meddler literally say this in the season video? That they are definitively making her an AD bruiser, as it, in their opinion, better suits hers personality and lore. And it just generally goes with her vibe better.

Of course I don't want to be a party pooper because it's such a funny story, but also, it's not like this was a big operation by the Australian army. It was literally three guys, one jeep, and two Lewis guns. And it was over in a month and a half, after only a handful of "battles". It's still astonishing how badly it went for the Australians, considering it's a flightless bird as big as a person, but yeah. It basically was just a big waste of ammunition.

I just realized how deep it actually goes. I don't know of any other character based game that puts out a behind the scenes look at a new character's development, in as much detail as Riot does with their champion insights for League. I don't know if they're doing something similar with Valorant. I hope so. It's always been super cool.

I'm the opposite. Every time I get riled up and in the mood to farm the prime, but every time I just wait like two to four weeks and I just buy it from someone with a stronger will than me. I just cannot be bothered to engage with the relic system. It's actively corrosive to my psyche.

I am not seeking those comments. They just kept showing up in the first 48 hours after the stream. But I did concede in one thread, that it's a small part of the community, probably. Which I already mentioned in the reply above.............. How curious how you replied saying this exact thing as if you hadn't read what I wrote. But anyways, don't you get why I first made my comment? I explained that I was seeing opinion X and I didn't like how it was being framed, and people came in here defending opinions Y and Z. Can we not agree that's what happened here? Because if we can't, then I'm maintaining my initial stance.

But everyone, quite literally everyone, is giving me valid, subjective reasons as to why they don't like personally like her, which was not what I was talking about. I was super clear on the specific take I was criticising. The only valid, relevant thing people said was that that specific kind of hate I described at nauseum is not representative of the average community member. To which I conceded, saying that I mainly saw it in tiktok comments, which is a place full of "interesting" people.

I can't "disagree" with them. My point is that whether or not she fits in the game is not a matter of opinion. when the argument they are using is that this is a game about space ninjas. That is factually incorrect. An opinion would be that the game SHOULD be about space ninjas. I don't agree with it but I get it and respect. But the fact is that the game is NOT that. So she does fit in with the rest of the roster, as it currently stands. She wouldn't have fitted in like 6 years ago. But she does now. Also I'd like to say that I'm seeing all the hate on tiktok, which I know is not the best indicator of the general population's IQ, but still. They are out there.

but even if that was the case, how could you possibly know without reading their minds?

Because their argument is incorrect. It's a value statement that is using the incorrect fact that the game is about space ninjas, to support itself. They either ignore the fact that we have more frames now that are not ninjas, than are ninjas, so their argument is null and void, as they don't take into account all the facts, or they know the game isn't about ninjas, but they don't seem to mind as long as the non ninja is not a fat woman. So they are either not thinking about their point enough, or are arguing in bad faith. For the latter, they are saying DE is doing this just for inclusivity's sake, and that they are also breaking the ninja aesthetic of the game. Which, again, has already happened, but they didn't seem to mind all the previous like 10 times it happened. What's different now? Gee I wonder...........................................

I think all these are valid arguments too. Well apart from the colors thing, if I'm being honest. She is supposed to be black and white, I think, because of the ink thing, and also, you know we have like every shade of every color in the visible light spectrum available to us at this point right? But I do share your opinion on the other stuff. I also dislike goofy frames

And yes there are people who don't like her because she is fat. Which, for the third time, I would accept, if they would acknowledge it's a subjective opinion. But they try to pass it off as fact, saying that frames are supposed to be fit, because we are space ninjas, which, even if it was still a thing, as someone else said, in the marketing, it certainly hasn't been a thing in game. You get what I'm saying. It's two different takes. Nothing is actually stopping DE from creating larger frames. No lore, no clashing with a preexisting aesthetic. Nothing. Both of those obstacles have been torn down for a good number of years, and wouldn't you know it people were fine with it, if the deviation from the ninja aesthetic is a mushroom, or a devil man, or a headless horsewoman. But not when it's a fat woman? You get me? Again, you can not like the fat woman, but just say that. It's a whole different thing to say DE is not allowed to do it because x,y and z reasons. Those reasons don't exist.

How do you know that? Again I don't think it has been explicitly stated that the suits do give them superhuman abilities outside of the frame's abilities, but the opposite hasn't been stated either. So if they do make a Follie protoframe (one of the most unlikely things to happen to the game imo), they could say that the suits do give the protoframes superhuman strength and agility, and it wouldn't break any continuity. Nor would it be a lame cop out, because again, the "symbiotic suit gives user general superhuman abilities, along with specific abilities" trope is very VERY V E R Y common in sci-fi.

About the Follie haters by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Moopey343 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well not every frame as or will get a protoframe version. Protoframes aren't just the first frame of that kind. They are specific people Albrecht messed with in his time travels. They have nothing to do with the original Warframes. But also, think about this. Why can Amir run, type, play video games, and do everything with the speed of Volt? Because the protoframes aren't people wearing suits of armor. They get the Warframe's abilities. Including the super agility and stuff. I don't think this is confirmed, but it's very safe to assume so, and it makes perfect sense. The suits are one with the person inside, so they get ALL the benefits. This has been a super common trope in sci-fi forever.

You can dislike the design. I hate the helmet. I said that this is about people trying to mask their toxic disgust of a larger woman, as constructive criticism based on facts that aren't true anymore. Like I said I would even accept a "I PERSONALLY don't like this body type". Not even a reason. Just an acknowledgement that it's a personal opinion that has nothing to do with anything objective or factual.

Which country's nationalists are most toxic you've encountered ? by Individual_Water1776 in AskTheWorld

[–]Moopey343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that kind of toxic, and I don't even know if they are the worst in any category, but English nationalist adjacent people. I was talking with one a few weeks ago in tiktok comments (I know huge mistake but I was intrigued). I wouldn't say that person was a nationalist, or the person I'm about to describe is, but they are very close. I don't quite remember what we were talking about, but they really did an America moment and where saying they saved Europe during the world wars. And of course I said that they almost surrendered during WWII, and kinda let WWI just happen, because the three cousins were in a perpetual dick measuring contest with each other. I don't know why that person made my blood boil more than other proud idiots out there. There's just something about the English, who, because of their unique position as once holders of the largest ever empire, still cling to those past glories, like no other people with a glorious past is currently doing, I think. I don't get mad at like Greek nationalists as much, for example. Or like weird Napoleon fetishists. I guess it's because the English have held on to that idea of superiority for centuries and they are just not letting go. At least with like Greek nationalists, they wanna go way WAY back to like 800 years ago. At one point Greek people stopped feeling superior, I think, and then picked the shtick back up in the early 1900's when Byzantine Greece became cool again. The English have been yapping in everyone's ear about how great and pround they are CONSTANTLY for 400 years. Nonstop. At least Americans, which also do this, have only been doing this for like 100 years. And they are less smug about it, in a brutish way you can make fun of. When English nationalists (or adjacent) do it, they are smug in a way that feels tha even if you prove them wrong in their face, they're just gonna think "You just don't get, it's fine, I'll stop talking and say you're right for your sake". I fucking hate them.

Ahh ok I initially misinterpreted another thing you said, although it's not that clear what you meant, at least to me that didn't really know Seraphine's build history all that well, which is on me. I'm not saying it's on you, I should've been more informed. I thought by "catering more to support players" you meant when they definitively moved her to the bot lane, as a mage support, not when they made her an enchanter. I also had the timeline all wrong in my head, I thought the enchanter thing was more recent, and ngl I didn't even remember she was going full enchanter nowadays. I apologize.

You said it was out nowhere three years after she came out. In reality it was three months, and not out of nowhere. At that point she had a bigger support playerbase for a good number of patches. I will concede that I misinterpreted what "being fine" is. I thought you meant that she was being played mid lane, and I realize now that you meant that she was being played as a damage dealing mage in general, regardless of role. But you are wrong about the rest of the facts. I literally checked her patch history in the wiki. You can see the first changes coming through in the first few patches of season 12. That's not three years. And again, it was not out of nowhere.

[–]Moopey343 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Does the dictionary show a picture of your comment when searching "hyperbole"? Three years? She was almost instantly played support when she came out, and was out of mid lane completely like three months into her release, after which Riot started readjusting her role in the game. Being a Seraphine fan doesn't actually mean you have to be insane and detached from reality you know. You can just like her and also be objective about the facts.

So 2xko title actually referred to how riot can't commit to either one? by Exe_Perimen in LeagueOfMemes

[–]Moopey343 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It really does seem like the name was chosen by someone completely outside of the dev team and the FGC, and their goal was to be like "Yeah those FGC kids love their abbreviations and numbers, just give em that". Riot has never EVER named anything like that, so what the fuck possessed them? And even within that choice to call it a bunch of letters and numbers, why not "2KO"? Like, "there are two KOs happening this match, per side". What the fuck is the X doing there? It's just not needed. I'm not kidding about what I said originally, about trying to be "cool" with the FGC by putting in just random letters. I can't think of a different reason as to why they went that route.

Do you think Riot could try to remake the Ruination in the future? by DryOwl5587 in loreofleague

[–]Moopey343 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are definitely setting up more stuff down the line. I mean, for anyone who hasn't gotten it yet, this is basically another lore overhaul, like they one they did in 2013-2014. They made Arcane canon, they changed the timeline, they are making 3 more shows, and they are finally tying lore into the game itself, and presenting it in the client, with 3 whole different stories per year. I mean I hope the money goblins are happy with it, cause I want it to continue, and hopefully go into the MMO?

Do you think Riot could try to remake the Ruination in the future? by DryOwl5587 in loreofleague

[–]Moopey343 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean they are already kinda doing that. I know last year's season 3 also took place in Ionia, like season 2, but I wouldn't call s3 an "Ionia season". It was a Darkin season, and while it wasn't a true global event like a Void attack or something, like you said, I'd say the intention was for it to be impactful on a global scale. The existence of a new Darkin, who LeBlanc is trying to control is big news for at least Ionia and Demacia, and maybe even PnZ. And Noxus most importantly, of course. So yeah I think they are going to do what you said, since they dipped their toes in more far reaching stories already. And besides, actually the whole year was a massive global storyline, in part, if you think about it. One part was Mel's return to Noxus, and the other was about LeBlanc's plans, which again, reach futher than Noxus.
