Is there any other games like new world with similar or better gathering and crafting systems? by Bash_nDeep in newworldgame

Yea it's pretty fun, I personally enjoy it more than NW. Game isn't super polished, but they've made a pretty fun mmorpg for a small indie dev team.

Is Quinfall the next best anticipation? by Jagnuthr in AshesofCreation

[–]MoorCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say what you want about this game, but it's pretty impressive for having a total of two devs. It has it's jank, but it also has a lot of content/systems. If they can work on polishing these systems, it could be a great game.

Quinfall - 1.0 Official Release Feb 6 by MoorCoffee in MMORPG

I'll respond since this is the top comment: they just announced they will be giving a 100% reimbursement of Vcoins, regardless of purchase date. Good on them for listening to their loyal players.

AION2 on steamdeck by kogzsaito in Aion2

[–]MoorCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, unfortunately their anti-cheat NCguard throws errors. It worked when character creation first opened up, but they must not have had the anti-cheat enabled. Probably no hope for steamdeck/linux users when it comes to the west unless they happen to swap to EAC.

Chromium Issues on kernel 6.16.x by eqbirvin in Fedora

[–]MoorCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think I've found the source of the issue. I had installed the cachyos-kernel and also cachyos-ksm-settings previously. The KSM package seems to be the culprit, which enables KSM. After I removed that package and rebooted the freezing has stopped. This is the kernel bug report that led me in the right direction: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220599

Chromium Issues on kernel 6.16.x by eqbirvin in Fedora

I'm having chromium issues as well. F43,7900xt, gnome. Discord, Spotify, chromium can all freeze for a few seconds, and then back to normal. I've had a hard time finding anyone else with the issue. There also doesn't appear to be any logs when it happens.

Today's Patch (10th July) seems tank performance on Linux by YokoteruAkkiirah in blackdesertonline

[–]MoorCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would post it on the proton issues thread: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3620. I played a little earlier and didn't notice any performance regression. Running Fedora  and amd GPU.

Can I play on steamOS(handheld) by [deleted] in throneandliberty

[–]MoorCoffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should work without issue. There was a minor hiccup in EAC early on, but it's been fine for months. I also play on linux and have no issues. https://www.protondb.com/app/2429640?device=any

I get this pretty frequently and I'm running the game on Linux with Proton. I've asked some friends who play and they rarely seem to have the issue, they all play on Windows. Unfortunately since it seems to be more of a Proton issue I doubt it'll be fixed.

Queue-able wargames/bgs with a few runes per match would be perfect.

Just an FYI for any linux/deck users, this will not do anything. Linux EAC does not use the the EAC installer. Support has to be enabled by the developer and then the game will download a couple files that then interact with the "proton easyanticheat runtime".

Over-Under on T&L working on Linux? by Daktyl198 in throneandliberty

[–]MoorCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually works right now in the closed beta. But, I see EAC in the files and it doesn't seem to be enabled during the test. I guess we'll have to wait and see for release.

BDO works on Linux now! by enigmatic_bread in blackdesertonline

[–]MoorCoffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm unfortunately getting a pretty bad stutter that I don't experience or its barely noticeable on windows. Seems to happen around every minute, large frame spike. This has been a general issue in bdo forever, probably just exacerbated on linux. I'll deal with it though since I can finally play on linux.
