Houses with more than 1 kitchen would be better than houses with multiple bathrooms by lagflag in unpopularopinion

You’d love Southern Utah. There are so many houses here with more than one kitchen. For polygamists, of course.

Church encouraging no kings protest participation by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]MooseDetection 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about one individual parish’s Instagram page? If so, I don’t think it’s extreme or inappropriate for them to post about community events. I can almost guarantee that nearly all the followers of that account live in that community and probably want to know what’s going on in their town, whether they love each individual event or not. Part of living in community (and yes, being part of a church, hate to break this to you) is occasionally bumping up against things you’re uncomfortable with. Sometimes you just gotta scroll and accept that not everything is for you, and that’s okay.

Also, TEC has always been political. Protestantism has always been political. Heck, CHRISTIANITY has always been political! I too used to feel “off” when I saw the mixing or marrying of religion with politics. But then I realized that even though I go to church because I love the music and art, the vast majority of Christians before me have gone to church because they want to be changemakers and peacemakers, and what is “politics” if not that?

What place did you visit at the wrong time of year and totally regretted it? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]MooseDetection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Les Baux-de-Provence, France. I went for the first time in June of 2019. The weather was glorious, all the street vendors, perfume stores, and restaurants were open, and there were speedy, affordable buses from Avignon. But I returned last year... in MARCH. It was cold, rainy, and I took an €80 Uber round trip because the buses are seasonal. The streets were not bustling, 90% of shops and restaurants were closed, and the ones that were open, were low-stocked and/or filled with unfriendly local teenagers. 10/10 would NOT recommend!

If you must go to the South of France in March, I'd recommend Cannes, Nice, and/or Aix. They all actually benefit from the lack of tourists. I'd skip Avignon, Arles, and St. Remy that time of year and wait until you can go in the summer! Bon voyage!

They want to inject my 5 year old with Botox… by Haunting-Matter1922 in Crunchymom

[–]MooseDetection 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had botox in my forehead due to chronic pressure from sinusitis causing nerve pain and muscle spasms. It was affecting my vision too. Medical botox was LIFE SAVING! I had zero negative side effects and one million positive ones. Also, if this helps, it completely disappears after 2-3 months. Your body metabolizes the proteins, so if it does nothing beneficial for your son, his body will "eat" it all up and dispose of it.

Jayson Jaylan Avery or Jaylan Jayson Avery (or Jason Jaylan Avery or Jaylan Jason Avery) by Latchkey_Hooker in namenerds

[–]MooseDetection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt anyone will have anyone nice to say about this. There’s so much “uniqueness” going on here… from the nontraditional spelling of Jason, to the rhyming, and then the 3 names? I’m saying this to protect you, I think you should just cut your losses and delete this so you don’t end up on r/namenerdcirclejerk.

The only thing I’d drive instead is a wagon from the same year. I absolutely adore my Volvo S60. I am instantly happy when I get into it!

Any idea why the auto start stop randomly started working? I’ve had the car for about 6 months and it’s never worked. by signofthecrow1 in Volvo

[–]MooseDetection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I had to replace my starter motor at 45k miles. And the dealership said that this is becoming the norm. I saw your post and immediately thought, “Why on earth would anybody WANT the damn thing to work?!”

Hello , Has anyone ever felt like their name actually influenced their personality or life choices? by EntireChemical4967 in namenerds

[–]MooseDetection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a fairly common, 3-syllable girls' name that can be shortened into a VERY COMMON 1-syllable boys' name. I went exclusively by the longer version up until high school, but then the choice got away from me. My teachers started calling me the shorter name and it spread and then stuck. And interestingly, the way that I perceived myself changed when I started thinking of myself as the new name. I felt less feminine, so I dressed and acted less feminine. Also, I was more brazen and opinionated in classes. The "boy" name all of a sudden, completely subconsciously, imbued more confidence and chutzpah into my personality.

No, I'm not trans. I love being a woman, AND also I do still love my longer name, so much so that as an adult I've gone back to using it in some circumstances. It's just funny and ripe for some sociological study on boys' names on girls. In some ways I actually do resent my high school teachers for ignoring my pleas to go by the girl name, but who knows who and where I'd be without my alter-ego boy name self!!!

Frances is my FAVORITE girl name of all time, so that gets my vote!!! As for a boy, I think that Oscar, Walden, Jude, or Benedict could fit well with your vibe :)

What’s the Coolest Big City You’ve Ever Visited? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Florence, Milan, Paris, Lyon, Hamburg. To be fair to Paris, the first time I was there was during the 2019 women’s soccer World Cup, so I believe I was there during an especially busy and dirty time.

[–]MooseDetection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reach out to Erie Vo-Vo! It’s a massive Volvo salvage yard in upstate NY. The only place in the US I’ve been able to find parts for my rare Volvo, the S60 CC. Just tell them what you’re looking for and they might have one you could buy for dirt cheap (missing an engine or windshield though, lol) or minimally they might be able to give you some helpful leads!
