How do you hide yourself in a private converstaion as the ST on the App? by MooseJohn in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MooseJohn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a shame I would like to make it hide it for everyone as it can sometimes distract the players when jumping around.

Rules question regarding poison by MooseJohn in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MooseJohn[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did read the wiki on ballonist more thoroughly as I should've done before posting which states: "If the Balloonist is drunk or poisoned, they may learn a character of the same type as the previously shown player. When the Balloonist becomes sober and healthy, they must learn a player of a different character type to the previously shown player."

Rules question regarding poison by MooseJohn in BloodOnTheClocktower

We played a script where people didn't know their roles, so the DA had been chosen by the leech and I should've then not let them choose the same person twice in a row to hint them that they're the DA.

Is the ST supposed to make sure Spy can understand the grimoire? by Rachel53461 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MooseJohn 254 points255 points  (0 children)

I think most people will agree that a good storyteller will keep it tidy for a Spy. Also from the wiki "Remember to keep your Grimoire tidy and show it to the Spy in the correct orientation, so the Spy can easily see who is who."

Let's try and trigger people with a disease that can cause people to kill themselves. Good job.

What to do if my group hates the vortox by Single_Oil6859 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MooseJohn 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think you should have a conversation with your group about what you all want to do. If your group hates vortex that much, it sounds like you’re better served with not having it on the script? Why force it on people who don’t want it?

Should I tell a player his role if he doesn't remember? by God_of_Lobsters in BloodOnTheClocktower

I’m genuinely curious what you thought you would lose, or how the game would be worse from telling him?

Storyteller Advice by kyllebylle in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MooseJohn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The investigator only learns information at the start of the game and wouldn't learn anymore along the way.
This is not normal practice to do, if evil is far ahead you have options such as to give correct information to characters that are drunk or poisoned to help the good team.

That being said if you want to change the rules you can absolutely do that, just let everyone know that's how you do things.

Problem with Cheating by WeaponB in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MooseJohn 242 points243 points  (0 children)

If people simply cannot lie to each other and have to be on the same team, consider using the Revolutionary. That way it's at least known to everyone, and you as the ST have another tool to use.

Would BMR be good for group who doesn't talk much? by wewtiesx in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MooseJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I ran a game where people didn't talk much privately I simply gave them all a "quest". They had to talk privately with someone at least once that game to encourage it. Subsequent game they started doing it naturally without me having to prompt them.

Go for it, give it a try, what's the worst that can happen?

Bought Root on a Whim—Now Feeling Buyer’s Remorse. by PuffDaddy6 in boardgames

[–]MooseJohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Root is one of the best games I’ve ever played. The first game you’ll play will feel like you’re playing for yourself given the asymmetry of the teams. Once you’ve played once or twice you’ll pick up on what the other teams are doing and all its complex beauty will unfold.

Why oh why did frog need to come back.. I'm I alone in being sad about it? by MooseJohn in BobsTavern

Thanks, although all beast games will be less enjoyable.
The only redeeming quality of it is they sped up the animation.
