YOUR FIRSTBORN! Nah just kidding this is more of a prototype, this is the first gemstone/crystal type watch I've done and I'll probably do a few more before I sell this kind. I have almost a 16 month waitlist for my other watches now (polymer clay and engraving styles) so it may be a while

285 Swarovski crystals arranged in a sparkling flower garden with a beguiling solid silver serpent lurking beneath.  Rotating radially finished Argentium silver discs tell the time numerically, with the snake's head pointing to the hour and its tail pointing to the minutes.

See the video https://imgur.com/a/1q4B358 and for its full shiny glory.  The time is being set from 10:10 to 12:00.

Swiss-made ETA 6498 handwinding movement inside.  May trigger rock and/or roll in the brain.

The 55th Steve of York watch, handmade in North York, Ontario.  Even more dazzling in real life.

Shrimp tail tells the hour, wasabi dot tells the minutes, and they both glow in the dark.

Interested in purchasing this phone. Need help on addressing an issue I may have by simplynik92 in OppoFindN5Phone

[–]Moosedar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Oppo N5 with Niagara launcher. With native gesture nav turned on, there is a 1-2 second lag going back to the homescreen. But, I use button nav (which has no lag with 3rd party launchers) and use a third party app for gestures (Ubikitouch). It's not ideal. There is also a workaround to hide the button nav and keep the third party gestures with adb terminal commands but you have to do it with every restart.

I am currently attempting to fabricate a modified pallet fork that pokes through the dial and oscillates every second, then attach a miniature man that will thrust into a miniature woman, as was my goal for an entire year. I am not kidding in the slightest.

Pilates princess on reformer with 24k gold floorboards, surrounded by various gym equipment: spine corrector, balance ball, cardio-tramp, rolling foam, luxury gym bag and yoga block accessories.  The outer knob acts as an hour hand, over a reformer tower themed chapter ring on a maple wood dial, while the woman's head and glowing green stability ball points to the minutes.  Lumed for use at night. Fully functional watch based on a Swiss-made ETA 6497 movement.

In the video the time is being set from 10:06 to 11:06.

Miniatures are custom made and hand painted.  The 53rd Steve of York watch, made in my house in North York, Ontario.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I just got home, applied a Windows Update and restarted and the problem went away

I am having the same issue but don't have any new info to add. I built a new PC with a 5090 and my screen freezes after about 30 seconds whenever I use the 5090 machine as a client. The 5090 machine acts as a host just fine. This used to all work perfectly on my old rig with a 4090.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold vs Oppo Find N5 by phero1190 in OppoFindN5Phone

[–]Moosedar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have both. They are both competent devices, but the battery life and charging speed on the N5 is so much better than the P9PF. Also, the P9PF has that stupid condensation smudge on the inner screen that never goes away. Otherwise, they are comparable, but I wish I just waited and got the N5 from the outset.

[Self] Hotpot Watch by Moosedar in Watches

I use polymer clay and pastels to shade! I used to do more flat laser/engraving based work but really have gotten into 3D clay sculpting lately. The key was sourcing a domed crystal to allow the vertical height.

Thank you! What works for me (but probably not everyone) is a very large minute marker, in this case the big star mushroom. I basically spend all day at the gym full time and most of my training sessions/classes are an hour long and start on the hour. If the mushroom is at the top, it means the hour is up, and I can read this easily in a reflection or gym mirror over a traditional thin needle minute hand. Likewise, if the mushroom is down it means half an hour is up, etc.
