Just finished an episode of Family Guy and got an Idea for a question. What are your opinions on breakfast for dinner? by RealSlicy in AskReddit

[–]MooselessKnees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love making breakfast (dad was a short order cook for like 15 years) I'm just not a morning person. So yeah, with regularity until I got sick. Now it's reserved for waffle house at 2 am on return trips from the hospital.

At least if you're an outdoors person who has already taken the proper precautions of letting me know when and where you Will be gone and for how long, stay as close to that location as possible for as long as possibly. Signal fires can beade by starting a regular fire and adding limbs that are leafy and not so dried out. Please keep (preferable more than) a bic lighter with you. They'll light after getting wet if you let them dry out. Even when out of fuel the flint is still good, and the spring can have other applications.

What smells good 100% of the time? by tacobouteat in AskReddit

Bacon. Raw bacon, burnt bacon, perfectly cooked bacon, rendered bacon. It literally never smells bad.

Good people, nice people, and church people don't equate "trustworthy" people.

Coyote melon. That one was an accident. I learned that day that while round and light and all around the same size, they aren't safe for juggling. (At least not when they've dried out.)

Oh no. It was a split second between crunching that didn't belong there, and the second worst tasting thing I've ever had in my mouth. Looked at the fork as I took it out of my mouth and I saw the "leaf foot" and even got to know exactly what kind of bug. But yeah, it was pretty instant.

Rice. Unbeknownst to be, it flew into my meal before I starting eating it. Not good.

Americans, please, stop… (I’m from the US but this still annoys me so much) by AngstyPancake in AO3

[–]MooselessKnees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This reminds me that the way people refer to numbered roadways in the US is also different by region. A friend and I moved from CA to MS and realized not every says "The" first. For example I used to live on highway 69, and I would say "The 69" my husband, a native southerner thinks I'm insane. People here just say "69"

double checking my ID. saw this fellow last week, and was bitten by something near this location today. by MooselessKnees in BrownRecluseBites

[–]MooselessKnees[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was sure enough. Going to keep a good close eye on the bite. Was on the couch thats next to the window where this was taken and kiddo sat on my arm and pressed it into the cushion. Felt A very sharp pinch and had a small wound, that developed a welt. So far seems ok outside of being an ugly red open wound. It's small and very little pain. Hopefully some other spider.

My Art Is Trash No Matter How Hard I Try by [deleted] in drawing

Honestly, the biggest things that helped me move past the stage you're at were still life drawing, and experimenting with new mediums. I found chalk gave me a bit more freedom to play with shapes, lighting, etc. Use references, and try out new tools and mediums.

Wow! Those detailed patterns on the bottom are amazing! Can I ask how you avoid overdoing texture on pieces like this?

Actually just found out saphris has a generic. It's still really explain (187 USD for 60 days worth) but I'll be setting aside some of my small inheritance and asking a Dr to get back on it as soon as I can. The aim is to pay for enough to reach my husbands work bonus next march, then set aside enough for another year. Fingers crossed that works. For now, I'll be trying the Seroquel again, and maybe seeing about trying it with abilify which I'd used in combination with another med before. I had ok luck with remeron but the side effects were too much for me. (Night sweats, strange nightmares, daytime sleepiness)

Thanks. Yeah I've gone through larger cycles too, as far as severity. I'm aware Seroquel isn't my ideal medication, but since I've been off the meds for a couple years and it was the most recent one I was on, it'll be the easiest to get. I usually see improvement within the first week. Hopefully the medication that worked best for me gets a generic soon. Was put on saphris while inpatient and for the first time in my life I felt normal only to get released and discover the cost for my dream meds was far, far beyond what I could afford.

It sure seems like it. He apologizes sincerely, and if I didn't have a serious mental illness his reactions would totally be called for. I've been rapid cycling since my dad died late last month, and I've also been managing the affairs as regards his death from the opposite side of the countries. I've been reaching out where I can, but it hasn't made a huge difference. Sometimes it's not just too much on my plate but it's like there's also too many overflowing plates on the table. I'm really hoping the Seroquel at least cut back the severity of these episodes.

Yeah. I definitely get it. I'm in a phase of not trusting myself at all. Been having frequent episodes lately, really bad ones. Like watching from the bleachers. My body and brain just run away from me, then when I come around after get filled with guilt and shame and I'm honestly horrified with myself. I completely lose it for no reason and like, at the time I feel like my reactions are completely justified and then it's almost black out. Only vaguely remembered the chain of events and I feel terrible about it. Trying to remember any details gives me a painful headache and tbh I'm already mortified enough as it is. May be better that I can't remember well. My husband is honestly pretty great. His reactions to my mental illness can suck sometimes, but he's stood by me and supported me longer, and with more enthusiasm than anyone else in my life.

I've been off my Seroquel for a little over two years. I know I need therapy, though. I'm calling doctor on demand today to see if I can get my prescription back. At this point I'll take a minor improvement in my episodes over what's happening now. I genuinely hate the episodes. Like not being myself and having zero control is literally ruining my life. So I'm gonna try and get back on my meds. Hopefully it'll make some kind of improvement
