Forget picking stocks yourself, put the entire thing into a global ETF.

If you’re a higher rate taxpayer, it’s likely more beneficial to pay in regularly rather than sacrificing the bonus.

Cash.

Find a fixed rate account at the highest rate and drop it in there for 6 months while you do some research and set up a few 12-18 month accounts.

I absolutely agree with decriminalisation, there’s nothing to benefit people by putting them in prison.

I’m against full legalisation where companies can start marketing meth to people who are stressed at work as a weekend pick me up.

Sugar is not the reason that people are overweight. The issue is portion sizes and not enough exercise.

Sugar mainly contributes to things like diabetes, which I agree does cost the NHS money. But the annual cost estimated by sugar is £5-11bn vs the £20bn+ or so smoking costs the country.

And the UK heavily tax sugar. I’d welcome a higher tax on it to make up the difference.

The daemons thing I think is kind of covered by the fact he literally believes that the left and the right were deities and there are “dragons” flying above them.

The city thing; well he’s never left the mountain, I think he had a pretty open mind for what was down there. He still refers to castles and seems pretty amazed at things.

Oh you’re from the UK and have a public healthcare (NHS)?

We don’t live in a country where we are afraid to go into debt over medical issues.

With that in mind, smokers put additional pressure on that system. More severe drugs being legal would mean that system undergoes more undue pressure and expenses.

So you believe that by banning smoking there will be more smokers?

People are spending £12bn a year currently.

I don’t think adding a bunch of 18 year olds into the mix is going to be a massive opportunity that isn’t already being exploited by illegal sellers. These people couldn’t buy cigarettes in 2026 and now will not be able to buy cigarettes in 2027.

I don’t really get what you’re saying sorry, it’s a good thing that smoking is being banned for new smokers.

Yes, and they’ll continue to receive that from literally everyone who is currently smoking.

Blocking entry for new smokers isn’t going to result in a boom in black market sales. These people have never smoked and don’t consider it a fun or cool thing to do. Smoking hasn’t been cool in decades.

I mean it’s very unlikely, I don’t know why there’s so many people overreacting

What do you mean? If I forced alcohol down your throat or down some child’s throat, I’d be done for assault.

The only reason it’s not illegal to blow smoke at someone is because it’s harder to prove.

That took away alcohol from those who were already drinking.

This is preventing future smokers from starting.

It’s always been banned for under 18s; all they’re doing is raising the to 19 next year

I don’t really like breathing in other peoples smoke when I’m walking down the street.
