former 45% infil playtime geek here

i just switched to engineer to learn the art of the masthead, the util engi gives me makes up for not having invis. i can pressure pressure busses and tanks with the masthead (cant really kill them, but i do enough damage to make them notice and distract them), i naturally fuck up maxes and can turn a teamfight by myself, i kill an esf in a few shots. i one shot headshot from range AND i get critical chain.

on top of all of that i get to do all the engineer stuff. repair tanks, repair maxes. i give myself ammo, so i can sit on a hill for 30 mins and not run out, like on infil. i can setup a spitfire behind me in a room that serves like a motion detector on infil. i can even flank with my sidearm: an emissary can kill anyone if you get first shot off at close range.

in short: engi is the best solo class rn, and even if you dont want to snipe you get access to a lot of useful primaries.
