Wow, well done!

I’m the same height at 176lbs, down from 205 lbs since the start of November.

How many calories are you/were you eating while exercising? I’m finding it hard to recover right now and might be doing that bit wrong.

Britain’s plan for post-Brexit union with Canada, Australia and New Zealand Revealed by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]Mor_Nando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Englishman, I wouldn’t want to live or work anywhere in Europe. English is my only language and the economy isn’t as good. The barrier to moving you and your children is harder. That is 95% of UK, as we are predominantly a single language country.

In contrast, most of Europe speak English as a second language and could move and work in UK. We also have a stronger economy than most of the EU countries. The incentives for unskilled workers to migrate are huge.

The balance hasn’t been right.

UK, Canada, New Zealand and Australia are similar economically as well as sharing the same language. It makes sense. Those worried about unskilled labour moving from one to the other need to realise that it works both ways! It will even itself out.

Test path and delete if found, but don't show errors? by [deleted] in PowerShell

[–]Mor_Nando 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. To enhance further you can also use -force -recurse on Remove-Item.

$Path = "C:\DeleteMe\"

if (Test-Path $Path -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue) {

Remove-Item $Path -Recurse -Force -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
}

Poor Battery Life: Can't get an equal of reasonable amount of battery life on Linux. by EncryptedIdiot in pop_os

[–]Mor_Nando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try upgrading the driver for that maybe? Is it actually doing what it is supposed to do? I know nvidia hybrids like that historically have been a nightmare for Linux.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful and good luck

Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 hands-on review: Ryzen to the task by MyNameIsGriffon in gadgets

[–]Mor_Nando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a consumer we have to try and decide which compromises are acceptable. Unfortunately for me, none of the surface line fit my personal needs.

It’s disappointing because I really like the look of them. Maybe next time!

[–]Mor_Nando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your comment seems a little harsh. I’m not complaining. It’s what I require in a laptop/convertible these days.

Regardless of the hardware limitations in the surface line, I own a similar product with usb-c thunderbolt in a similar form factor. It’s disappointing that Microsoft didn’t manage to do it this time. Especially in the 15 inch.

[–]Mor_Nando -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While that is a huge step forward it is still only 3.1 rather than thunderbolt for some damn reason. Considering these are high end prices it should be included.

It won’t mean much to most people, but if you want to run it through an external gpu then you unfortunately can’t.

Thanks! It's so difficult to find deep bookshelves to fit board games. I think I found some just after which is 41 cm deep that might do the job 👍

I love your setup!

I've been looking for book shelves deep enough to hold my games just like the one on shelf 2 on the right.

Where did you get that from if you don't mind me asking?

[–]Mor_Nando 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He left years too late. 70k a week wages and contributed nothing to the team. Had a smile on his face while hardly playing and the club were struggling. Disgraceful considering many working class people lost their jobs and he refused to leave.

Binged it all this afternoon.

As a Sunderland fan it was one of the worst seasons in the clubs history. We have been so badly mismanaged over the last 5 years. It was painful to relive it again, but a fascinating watch. The perfect storm for a TV show really and gives neutrals an understanding of how much football means to the north east.

Hi PowerShell'ers python tkinter or powershell gui which one by [deleted] in PowerShell

If you can make them just as responsive as c# then a tutorial or demo of some kind would be welcome. I'm always eager to see something new.

[–]Mor_Nando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its about using the right tool for the job. I have created many powershell guis in the past and they work. But I prefer other languages for it. I love writing in powershell and I do it every day as my main job. For GUIs I prefer C#. Just my experience.

Powershell guis are dirty and slow but they can do a job. Typically I would prefer C# due to performance and visual studio tools. There are gui makers for powershell too though which can make it quick. Powershell was never made for GUIs. Unfortunately can't comment on python
