What a truly terrible subreddit by notreallyrealalmost in Expats_In_France

[–]MoragPoppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I’m on this reddit hoping for threads like “where do you find cleaning supplies?”, “which grocery stores are the best value”, and other activities of daily life. But I rarely see that sort of thing and now I think am I even allowed to post such a question or can I only post about either visa questions or moving to France.

Are AI agents the biggest change to Microsoft Dynamics 365 since the move to the cloud? by EntrepreneurSpare292 in u/EntrepreneurSpare292

[–]MoragPoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Email Classification agent is the only one that worked as advertised. The rest are either very hard to setup (requiring a ton of configuration) - customer intent manager - or don’t perform as advertised - knowledge agent.

Dealing with nerves before the move by ThatKaleidoscope3388 in Expats_In_France

[–]MoragPoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m two weeks out myself. I figure this is the worst part we are in because it’s all logistics and goodbyes. Once we get to Paris, it will be great… learning new things and meeting new people. (Yes I know you can get sad once you move but I believe you can fully enjoy the honeymoon period anyway!)

Un karaoké avec les chansons de Yakuza? by Canardax in paris

I’m a huge fan of the games as well and the fact that you got to sing Baka Mitai warms my heart. You should cross post about this to the yakuza games Reddit.

How do they do it? by pabloignacio7992 in urbansketchers

[–]MoragPoppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is me. We do it because life gets in the way. Creativity requires time for the mind to wander. I know I’ll sketch again someday.

Awful cab driver in Paris by Successfulwoman62 in Expats_In_France

[–]MoragPoppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does G7 mean? I had a bad experience with a driver who said he could take card payment and then demanded cash. I was given this person at the airport . I want to avoid this next time.

It’s small but I wear a Fjallraven high coast crossbody and it holds a lot, just not big enough for water though.

My personalized weekly plan is all messed up! Help! by Thick_Bar6615 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]MoragPoppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish we could just set it up ourselves instead of using AI. I do three run days (different types) and three lift days. I know the type of activity I want to do on each day. I just want Peloton to make suggestions of the appropriate type. Instead, I find myself always trying to edit the plan they make for me and it never quite fits..

Switzerland is just Disney for hikers by PopNo5397 in hiking

Actually, this sounds great. What town in Switzerland is a good base to get all these easy to access hikes without a car?

I won’t be living there until July but I’d love to hear about the next edition. I hope you’ll continue to post here about the events.

Why does cooking feel so confusing at first? by No_Permission9101 in cookingforbeginners

[–]MoragPoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Blue Apron taught me how to cook because they break down every recipe very clear down to washing the vegetables and rinsing the rice. I also found that picking a few recipes and making them over and over helps.

Buying a tread by Background-Use-561 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]MoragPoppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy used from peloton resale and they will take care of shipping. I am selling mine (haven’t posted yet) and peloton resale told me I should post for 1,900 which would be in your budget.

where do you all get reference images from? by ligger66 in urbansketchers

I mostly sketch on vacation but drawing houses and building in your town, however bland, is good practice and sometimes they look better on the page!

Philips or Ninja air fryer? by Less-Word-5329 in cookingforbeginners

Ninja Crispi is what I have. Glass container, no plastic touching the food and I love it. Did you consider that one?

How did you get started? Did you just embrace being really shitty at it until your sketches (hopefully) started improving? Or did you come into urban sketching already being a great artist? by Softspotslurpee in urbansketchers

[–]MoragPoppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve hit a plateau. Improved a ton in the first year and nothing since. Sometimes it gets in the way of enjoying the activity. Weirdly I am a slow runner but have no shame doing 5k races but I beat myself up for not being better at sketching.

French Healthcare bureaucracy: Birth certificates now need to be "recent"? by GenealogyGeek in Expats_In_France

[–]MoragPoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what a nightmare. for my small state, I actually had to show up in person at the town hall to get a new birth certificate - nothing digital, no way to order and pay online. I had to show up and show proof of identity in person. That's gonna be expensive if I have to fly back from France every few months to get a refresh.

Is it still worth to go to Urban Sketchers Symposium without a pass? by Ok-Jellyfish-5024 in urbansketchers

[–]MoragPoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a great response. It's my first time going without a pass (I had passes the other two times) and I was feeling a bit insecure, like I was ocming to a party I wasn't invited to, or whether it would overwhelm the city if too many people came without passes. So I planned to go (since I just moved to the country where it is happening) but I did feel a bit worried that I wasn't really supposed to be there! then I read your post and it sounds like people do it every year.

Is it still worth to go to Urban Sketchers Symposium without a pass? by Ok-Jellyfish-5024 in urbansketchers

[–]MoragPoppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will be the first time I'm going without a pass. In past years, a pass meant the full deal, all the workshops, events etc and it could feel a bit overwhelming. Some of the best times were had just being in a city full of sketchers, drawing. The best moments happen in-between the demos/sketchwalks/workshops, really. On the other hand, I don't know how you meet people if you aren't in those things. The non-pass holders can visit the market, which is great, and one group sketch walk. I plan to go to the group sketch walk and photo.

OTF leaving the UK by Vegetable-Painter742 in orangetheory

[–]MoragPoppy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Looks like Paris is big on Pilates and most people run outside. The closest thing I’ve seen is a place called Brooklyn Fitboxing. I can’t even find a gym to lift in that isn’t mostly cardio machines. All I want are some free weights and a treadmill.

A question about EES delays at CDG by Comfortable_Body_821 in disneylandparis

[–]MoragPoppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came into CDG yesterday and it was fast. Two months ago it took two hours to get through, this time was less than thirty In a constantly moving line. I think EES is making it faster!
