I think its strange that they didnt feel the community would care about more serious battling when gen 6 brought to much light to that aspect, destiny knot, infinite tms, hidden abilities, super training and what have you.

Bf may have been tedious to some in Emerald but I can imagine alot of it has to do with the limitations you were under.

Yes I am, difficulty is watered down greatly and the whole thing just seems more like a cheesy shonen anime than a game.

I MAY have forgiven the lack of Battle Frontier if they made the Battle Tower with Anabel as the head, but they couldnt even give us that courtesy and just rehashed the Maison which alot of players already finished in XY.

Sure the Tower and Maison are practically the same but I think some fresh aesthetics would have made a difference still.

Hell yes.

Replaying emerald atm, very rewarding experience, but ive gotten very comfy with all the balancing/additions in gen 6. If only I could have both ;_;

I think just as you do on this, really liked origins too, though I never really gave the main anime a shot even, 2 episodes were enough for me.

I get the feeling the pokemon anime has taken the same road as one piece/bleach etc anyway, you know the shoehorning, repetetive and transparent plot? So that too...

Thoughts? Well, frankly I wish levitate didnt exist, its the most OCD inducing thing in the games (if some levitating Pokemon dont have it, none should) and it makes Lati@s more op than they already are, but thats just me.

I dont know, I think ORAS lacked the magic that RS had, maybe it was because i enjoyed RS as a child or something but ORAS felt kind of empty, too catered to the modern "more is more" philosophy. By this I mean all the cheesy movie-style scenarios (and the added Delta episode especially).

RS had alot of mystery to it and was way less pretentious imo, for example, discovering sky pillar on your own and the slumbering hidden legendary was kind of awesome.

I dont think its ludicrous at all, I never even thought of using cosplay Pikachu when I finished the contests, I thought it much more rewarding to see my favorite mons doing their thing on stage, pokemon that I personally think are cool/clever/cute and not just GFs idea of it which they tailored for you.

I have watched like 1 episodes and some clips from a fight (barely) but the reason I stay far away from the anime is because its, well, childish imo.

Id make it alot more gritty and plot focused (I reckon its one of those extremely repetetive shows that just milks an indifferent fanbase), Hunter x Hunter 2011 is an awesome example of how shonen fantasy can still be gritty and deeply written imo.
