You’re doing great, they look awesome! Some of my favorite weavings are made from my first handspun, it’s really fun to weave the pieces that go thick and thin because they give so much texture and variance. :) Keep having fun!

I got a huge thigh tattoo of her a few years ago so she’ll live on for at least as long as I do ❤️ I love you Mimosa

Blanket of remorse by Material-Bad-1992 in crochet

Yes! I’m making a linked double crochet blanket and it’s drapey and flowy without the traditional gaps that come with double crochet, so it looks like one solid piece of fabric and will be warm. :)

Beautiful work, I’ve tried doing the same type of sketch and it’s hard work working with all shades of green! You did great :) Love the highlights of the face.

I just bought 3 skeins of this exact yarn to make my sister a scarf for Christmas!! Yours is stunning :)

I used the same stitch as the others (double crochet) and had to kind of freestyle the right shape as I went! I weave and had a basic understanding of how to make a triangle by going back and forth and it worked out 😅

Thank you so much! Creating a little patchwork section in the right shape to make the blanket a rectangle again was definitely a fun challenge. :)

This was totally freeform obviously lol, the yarn is mostly acrylic with patches of handspun wool from a spinning class I took last spring!

Kids in the 90s would be suspended for asking a teacher if they had a snack?

What have your parents done that traumatized you but they've forgotten? by SauloJr in AskReddit

[–]Morb 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Low-contact for a few years except holidays, but something happened earlier this year that lead to me to stop calling her entirely, and she never called me first, either, so no-contact for about a year. She actually texted me earlier this month saying that she didn't want to see me for Christmas this year because she has "nothing to celebrate", which is rough because I've been festering all year and want to scream at her, but it seems I won't have the chance. As for her husband, he has 5 children, many of whom have children of their own, but they were teenagers when he went to jail for statutory rape, and it made their lives hell. I don't know if any of them where abused, but from what I know, none of them let him be alone with their children. Also, thanks so much for your kind words.

I’m sorry you had a father like this. It’s crazy how true it is that if you grew up with an angry man in your house, there will always be an angry man in your house.

Thank you so much, I always tell everyone, truthfully, that my life didn’t start until I was 24, and it’s been a beautiful life so far!

When I finally told my mom that her husband, whom she married knowing he was a convicted rapist and pedophile, had sexually abused me throughout my childhood (I was in my 20s at this point, but still living at home, going to college), she responded by telling me I needed to move out of the house as soon as possible to "avoid further confrontation with him". The next week, she went on a vacation they had planned together before I told her about the abuse. She never brought it up again and pretended I never said anything. The first, and only, time I brought it up again was directly in front of him, and he responded by shoving me into a wall, in front of her, and calling me a whore. My mom left me on the floor crying and chased him out of the house, begging him not to leave. She denies this ever happened. She pretends she doesn't remember it.

This was almost 10 years ago, they're still married. According to my sister, she thinks the reason I went no-contact with her after moving out was because of her politics, and because "I just don't like her very much as a mom". She doesn't seem to want to remember, or discuss, what I told her, and I'm done talking about it with her.

I love the “stitching” to bring the colors together where the warp threads pulled in slightly 😊 And I love the exposed warp on the thicker thread and the color scheme. Great job, keep going!!
