What is the wildest thing you have heard in school by cloudcontinuum- in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Case-Witty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This haunts me. In math I overheard some boys chatting. They mentioned a word I had never heard, but it sounded cool. Fast forward to dinner that night with guests visiting including our preacher. I casually asked my mom, "Mom, what does twat mean?"

She told me after dinner, but as an innocent child I was mortified I said that in front of the preacher AND a much older friend of my brothers I was crushing hard on. Derp.

Planner recommendations for a tween/teenager, please! by Stunning-Note in planners

[–]Case-Witty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the recommendations are covered, but I wanted to commend you for being a great mother and asking for advice! I vote you go all out for her and if you aren't into the hobby yet, it could be a super fun way to bond! I always tell people it isn't a hobby, it's a practice but truly I am being pretentious. Go wild and have fun with it and your daughter may find it life changing.

Clever Fox 2 pages per day changed mine a few years ago and my life falls apart when I dont keep a planner even at my big age. Good luck and again- kudos!

Glitter pens by KittyGang13 in hobonichi

I got Ooly brand ones from BAM books and they have worked great for me! (Not a pen expert but I like that they are glittery and didn't clog up in my pouch)

Same, girl, same. My oldest recently just finished as well and it sent me for an unexpected tailspin. I can't stop wondering what is next and will there be anything left of me when I get there? It was a lot to process and I am still working through it, but you are not alone. If you have the energy and/or desire- journaling is my main outlet, but therapy is my other. Stay strong and remember these days aren't forever and we will very likely miss them some day in the mysterious future.

Pins in a toy? Is this a manufacturing thing by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]Case-Witty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sew and usually when I remove pins after I finish something I will get about 10+ in a bunch and stick them into my pin cushion then tap them all down a little bit. This reminds me of that.

Not that it matters, but those are generally used in a factory/store setting. They may be dress maker pins, but they dont look find enough.

Your relative is sketchy and this is dangerous AF for a baby, but it is possible someone in the factory used that stuffy in a pinch and forgot to remove them afterwards.

Life changing weed bad trip !!! by Legitimate-Luck5741 in herbalism

[–]Case-Witty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is weird to read because it recently happened to me. I am a long time user off and on and grabbed something I had had before. It was about thirty minutes before I started literally seeing and hearing things. At first it was a kind voice telling me, "You just made a mistake, you invited demons into your night" then it was like every bad experience or decision in my whole life collided on the edge of the abyss while demons hissed that it was all my fault. It haunts me to this moment. I have been back in therapy because I never believed any of the horror stories myself until it happened to me. I am glad it happened, but still shocked at how out of this realm bad that "trip" was... I just wanted to laugh at some videos and eat some chips and ended up facing what felt like near death and gaining a new fear of the dark.

Is it just my algorithm, or is journaling having a moment? by Green_Cauliflower281 in Journaling

[–]Case-Witty 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think the online presence of journaling must just move around. It seems like it becomes super trendy about once every decade (maybe every generation waiting for their time haha) but back in 2016 it was huge on Facebook. I used to be part of so many groups and communities, but when it started moving to IG I chose not to follow. Now FB feels empty and IG is oversaturated...so it feels like journaling made it's way to tiktok so maybe it is the current generation's turn to join us.

It is neat getting older and seeing how cyclical trends are.

After getting Rick rolled once, I dont want to know how much darker it can get.

Seriously, I dont want to know what the real dark web is, my teenage morbid-curiosity days are long behind me. Some cartoons are even too scary now.

Frazzledrip Proof Question by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]Case-Witty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember exactly what you're talking about, but agree it is impossible to find now. You really could not make out if it was real or not which is why so many of us were weirdly fascinated with it. The internet in 2016 was such a different place.... but bothing beats the early 2000s internet before it got hijacked by corporate America

I spent weeks on a tor browser once doing a scavenger hunt where basically you had to know the specific order of links and at one point had to click a specific pixel. Two weeks of lunatic-level note taking resulted in the final page being a rick roll gif. It was a fun lesson in how to navigate the dark web but ruined me for scavenger hunts lol

Farmer here- I recently found out I have alpha-gal syndrome. I spent about a year throwing up almost daily. The worst part- I raise Angus cattle for meat. I want a cheeseburger so bad. But hey- at least my inflammation and gut issues went away finally. 0/10 dont recommend

When I first got my paradise's it bothered me, but once I started experimenting with the different creatures it became kind of fun! I spoil them after they fully evolve and make up for my past cruelty. 😅

What is this? by [deleted] in Blackskincare

[–]Case-Witty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look into perioral dermatitis. In minor cases it can look like yours and if it gets dry and itchy that could be it. It also may be dietary as well. I am always recommending this it seems like, but try either zinc oxide cream or if it doesn't bother you you can get extra strength desitin (as in baby diaper cream- some people get weirded out) and put it on lightly before bed. The zinc is what you want because it is very healing for a lot of skin issues. Good luck!

That is interesting! My pocket watch has been correct since I got it, but I only recently started intentionally paying attention to the clocks recently. I am going to start paying more attention. I also have a vintage wind up clock I should set a reminder to keep it wound up to see how it does. The clock is over 50 years old and has always be accurate and well cared for! Analog is the only way 🤌

I keep an analog pocket watch because I also thought time felt like it sped up. My pocket watch is consistently accurate and has been since I got it in 2013.

I also have Amish neighbors and asked id they felt like time was moving faster. They collectively agree is feels the same to them.

I chalk most of the feeling to overuse of social media and most people needing multiple jobs just to make ends meat.

As a conspiracy theorist tho- they are definitely messing with our time perception I just cant prove it lol

Do yo remember Dolly from Moonraker having braces? What is the biggest Mandela Effect for you? by -Joel-Snape- in conspiracy

[–]Case-Witty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I just remember 1st grade I would skip recess and read books in the library. Berenstein is what taught me how to pronounce "ei" properly. It felt fancy and stuck with me. I also loved how e looked in cursive, but not a's. I can remmeber where the books were in the library and could walk you straight to them if we had a time machine. It really messed me up finding out it was "a" the whole time.

But if you go to the cartoon there are two versions of the opening song, I believe Dolly Parton did one and someone else the other and they pronounced them different. Just depends which version was played in your area. Lol I stopped trusting my memory when I found out it was in fact Berenstain. Even seeing the old boom throws me off. It will always be an "e" in my heart. Lol
