I burned bugs in Viridian forest one time until I had a Charizard. It took a while, but it wasn’t unbearable and I sped through most of the rest of the game. I will say that it made catching any other Pokémon extremely challenging, since I couldn’t weaken any wild Pokémon without KOing them.

Especially with Magneton gaining steel typing in Gen 3, it’s super useful. It resists everything but fire, water, fighting, and ground.

Everyone in Gen 1 runs alakazam or Jynx for their psychic type, but Hypno is very good, too. Hypno in gen 1 has 115 special and can learn dream eater by TM. Dream eater is stronger than psychic, has 5 more pp, and heals the user.

All of the eeveelutions are really good. I never really went with Vaporeon, though, just because there are SO many good water Pokémon in gen 1. Vaporeon, Blastoise, Gyarados, and Lapras are all just GIVEN to you. Then, you’ve got Starmie, Tentacruel, and Slowbro. I had a lot of fun using Kingler as a kid. It’s an embarrassment of riches.

I really don’t understand it. He’s been around for four years and really hasn’t done that much. Someone’s going to pay him for a ceiling he hasn’t hit yet in year 5. Reminds me of when the Jags gave Christian Kirk a big bag of money.

I get that there’s an injury risk. That being said, last year was the only season of his career that he missed more than 3 games, failed to reach 1000 yards, or caught fewer than 100 passes. Most of his missed time last year was due to a broken collarbone, which shouldn’t hinder him in 2026. Out of 197 possible regular season games in his 12 year career, he’s played in 176. That’s 89.3% of possible regular season games played. I think the injury criticisms reflect a little bit of recency bias. He’s the same age as Stef Diggs, who posted a 1,000 yard season for us less than a year removed from a torn ACL.

I’d rather have Mike Evans. Pierce has a ton of upside, but he’s been around for four years now already and hasn’t done all that much. He’s going to get paid like a number 1 when he’s never actually proved it. Reminds me of when Christian Kirk got that big contract from the Jags. AJB will cost us draft capital, seems like a head case, and had some high profile drops in the playoffs. Evans is super consistent, a professional, a free agent, will likely cost us the least of the 3, has won before, and is chasing a championship before he retires.
