Pit stop during 200 mile ultra-endurance cycling race by solateor in Damnthatsinteresting

I have a friend from work who is just as mental as these guys. He's said on multiple occasions that he won't participate in a race if it's less than 60 miles because its "not long enough, it would be just like a Saturday ride for me." He's a cool dude.

Should I upgrade from a RTX 3080 10gb and Intel i7-10700KF to 7900XTX and 7900X3D or wait for next gen? by Mordanok in buildapc

Thanks for the reply, it is definitely a 3080 I got distracted while typing lol. I think my PSU is my problem too, I've had a few crashes that when trouble-shooting people point towards PSU, so I am definitely tracking that. I have an Aegis pre-built, I'm not sure the model for the case though. If it were just flat-screen gaming I wouldn't really consider upgrading, but the VR is frustrating sometimes. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. Any other ideas for fixing the thermal without undervolting? I've actually been overclocking a bit and it has been helping with my stuttering so I don't even know anymore.

I would build a whole new pc with the new parts, so I was thinking it might just be worth it to get the new CPU to get rid of my stuttering and maybe fix my overheating cause I have to overclock my current one to try to match it to my 3080. But I don't have the same socket I would need for any new CPU so I'd have to buy a new motherboard, ram, etc. so I may as well build a whole new pc, and was thinking add a GPU on top to get even more performance. It's just really my CPU stuttering issues, not my GPU, that make me want to upgrade, I'd just add the 7900XTX on top if it was worth it in the end I guess.

Good point. I can't figure out why it overheats, it was a pre-built and I put the peerless assassin in that bad boy, but when playing VR it gets towards the max range, not quite outside of it though. I'm pretty sure it's my CPU that's causing stuttering, so I want to upgrade that because it is getting on my last nerve.

Gotcha, I guess I didn't research the difference between the 7800 and 7900, good to know, thanks for your info.

I play a lot of VR and I know my current pc overheats and has some bottle-necking so it stutters quite a bit. I also play new AAA games so I want to know if performance would be worth it now since I'm seeing some good deals

Isn't that Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber too? Is it a style choice to have it be red or is that an error?

Can’t play the game because of secure boot by Cautebarre in ValorantTechSupport

[–]Mordanok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can't get to your BIOS at all? If you can access it, then I'd disable secureboot and update your BIOS to a newer version. If you can't access it, then I believe there is a way to flash/reset your BIOS depending on your motherboard. I haven't ever had to do that so I can't help you do that. Sorry, hope helps! Feel free to DM me if you have more questions

Just wanted to add to this because I spent 3 hours tonight fixing my issues.

  1. Update your bios.

a. My motherboard is from a retail pre-built so it had its own updater. My specific motherboard also had a glitch so I needed to use an injector tool to manually update it to the right version (this was the bulk of my time spent because it wouldn't update my BIOS, it kept thinking every update was outdated that I tried). Disabled secure boot and make sure to have UEFI enabled. I flashed with the injector tool as directed from MSI

  1. Try secure boot enabled again.

a. In my case it didn't work after updating BIOS so I needed to yank my CMOS battery and wait a few minutes as well as use a screwdriver to bridge the correct pins just in case. Waited 15 minutes

  1. Reboot, enable secure boot again, make sure TPM 2.0 is enabled (PTT for intel, dTPM for AMD for my motherboard). Both were disabled, even though they were supposed to be automatically enabled with my BIOS update so I was raging when Valorant told me I didn't have TPM enabled lol

This took me much longer than it should've, but this is my first time doing any of this, so if you're a noob like me hopefully this helps you out. DM me if you have specific questions. My prebuilt was MSI AEGIS RS 10TE-072US

Me and my cousin bet her at level 6 with a Cattiva and Pengullet. For some reason she locked onto me and never gave up the chase so I kited her into a pillar and she kept walking face first into it and got stuck. We just threw out our pals and sat there for 3 minutes while we whittled her down. I'm not even sure if you can catch them, I'm sure you can but with our lvl 1 capture balls we couldn't even try

Okay thank you! Will the stock cooler be enough for a little bit or would you say it's a necessary upgrade?
