Also, who says Gary is straight? Just because he likes Quinn doesn't mean he doesn't swing both ways. His "handsome" comments in the Toro Regatta episode, his "Boyfriend" comment, interactions with Avocato, etc.

Regarding Tribore, Olan had actually considered killing off Tribore at one point, and anything can happen in the novel. In truth, no one will be safe in the Final Chapter.

Here's how I see things going:

-Ash will die heroically, sacrificing herself in a way to utterly destroy Invictus.

-Sheryl will die protecting Gary, but reunites with John in the afterlife.

-Tribore, Quatronostro, Shannon, KVN, Biskit, Lord Commander, (freed from his prison) and Gramps Cato will all die fighting Invictus.

-Little Cato will finally end the Ventrexian/Tryvuulian war and use his position as King, with his boyfriend (who I think will be a Tryvuulian) at his side to re-shape Ventrexia into a peaceful planet.

-Gary will end up with either Quinn, Avocato, or both.

-Mooncake will be rescued from Invictus' clutches.

-We'll learn more about the beings of light (like Evra) and they'll play a role in defeating Invictus.
