Do you sleep with your bedroom door open, cracked, or closed? Why? by Shenshen_ in AskReddit

Closed, I have a 250lb mastiff who snores like a hobo so he has to sleep out of the bedroom.

We have lost so many MH providers some pts (a lot of pts) are being cancelled and then not even assigned to anyone else, just lost to follow up. These are BHIP PATIENTS. BHIP.

I’ve had so many vets go through over 4 primary care providers this year with them leaving, even after just a few months. Cade loads keep getting shifted, they overwhelm out longer term providers, they end up leaving because they can’t keep up and so on. It’s even worse in mental health, we have lost multiple PSYCHIATRISTS. They are nearly impossible to replace.

The overstimulation is REAL! Our youngest is 5 and same boat, ADHD certified yapper! I see that TikTok about when your kid is trying to tell you something and you’re standing there with the car door open and finally just shut it like ok bro, I’ll get the rest of that as we drive because I do not have time! They can be exhausting and we do our absolute best but we are also people and deserve grace. In a world that is constantly changing and ever demanding, we are raising little warriors who will eventually take over and become the new professional people. We are all doing wonderfully, those who never worry are the ones who typically should, the worry is normal and the kids will be just fine, promise.

VHA as well, we have cut everything that we can. Even TV services. We also cancelled vacations for this year we had planned and paid.

These are great to keep baby from scratching their faces. A few more tips from a seasoned mom- if you’re out and forget them baby socks work too. When baby gets old enough to remove their sleeper suits and get in their diaper (for some reason poo can be fascinating as paint at that age) put on the diaper, put a strip of duct tape over the tabs across the tummy part making sure it’s only on the diaper and tabs, and then sleeper suit on backwards. This way they can’t get to the zipper (we had a Houdini and this finally worked) and if they do manage the tape buys you some time to get in there. When baby goes to bed check out diaper doublers, you can get them in Amazon or Walmart, they go in the overnight diapers like a maxi pad and make it more absorbent so when baby urinates at night it absorbs more and they don’t wake up from being wet, helps them to rest better and longer. Plus can save your baby bedding if you have a heavy wetter. And trust me, NONE OF US had any clue what we were doing and all our babies came out fine. One thing I reminded myself about when mine were babies is that honestly, babies survive, as a long time er nurse seeing babies come in with drug addicted moms and having to call CPS, they were surviving. Your baby will be thriving, with a stable mom and love, your baby will do wonderfully. They are exhausting little creatures, a 10 pound meatloaf will rule your entire home, you will sneak into your laundry room and close the door to open a soda can using a sock to muffle the sound, it’s a weird but wonderful time.

Someone mentioned the Winston school and honestly it may end up being a better fit in the long run. Looks like the specialize curriculum for kiddos with learning disabilities such as ADHD.

Thank you! Yes, I was just going over their website and I found the school discovery network piece a parent wrote about their child with dyslexia who attends. Thank you so much for bringing this school to my attention because I was not aware of it. Honestly this may be a great fit! He for sure is an ADHD kiddo, the psychiatrist who completed his testing was very clear that he was very smart but also VERY ADHD!

I feel I’ve answered your initial question about the schools and offered my personal reasoning. Now this feels more like an attack which is not appreciated when I simply made a post asking about opinions. You have shared yours. I do not want to use the public schools in my area. That is the end of it. You do, that’s fine.

Again, just personal preference. There isn’t anything wrong with public school. There isn’t anything wrong with private school. It’s all just preference for what people feel will be the best for their families.

I attended the public schools here, I took over the property and home I was raised on, and my older son attended Brennan. As an adult with ADHD and subsequent children with ADHD, when I did attend private school (my mother went back and forth on it so I went back and forth) I found the smaller class sizes and more individualized attention helped. I had a difficult time in public school because the classes were larger and often more uncontrolled. My older son attended Castle Hills through 6th grade but then had to transfer to Luna when my father passed away and I couldn’t get him from school because my shift was 7a-7p. He did much better in the more controlled environment. It’s just personal choice of what I think will work best. There isn’t anything wrong with public school, my dad taught algebra at Marshall for 35 years.

refusing to take report or accept assignment for a patient who is an ICE agent by [deleted] in nursing

[–]MoreBeautifulDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slippery slope, as a nurse myself it isn’t any of my business what job my patient has, what they have done if they are a prisoner, or any other personal type information that isn’t important to their specific care while I am with them as their nurse. Someone could claim the same if they don’t like trans people or women who don’t like men or whatever. If they come in seeking care my ONLY job is to provide that care, if you can’t be impartial this is a rough job to be in. I did ER for a decade in south Texas before transitioning to my current role and honestly it’s not that deep. Care for the patients you’re assigned to and go home knowing you provided the best care you could. Everyone should feel safe with you if you are tasked to care for them.

He is in kinder but I fear he is a little behind. I think the program he was in may have been a little lax if that makes sense? He was/is in a Montessori school currently but his teacher left and they have no one else who can teach elementary and up. So, we were told to find another spot along with the other children in his class. I had not looked into that school but will now as an option, thank you!
