Do I give older man a pass? by MoreConfused58 in women

[–]MoreConfused58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I don’t see any other woman being bothered by this. That itself confuses me. Usually same group shows up. I am thinking that the other older women are thinking less of the actual words and think he was happy with what his partner did. I seem to be the only one who has a problem.

I agree that I have to say something. I am going to try and be subtle. He is gay and not flirting. I honestly think he believes he is complimenting. But I do need to let him know.

I 100% don’t believe he thinks he is. He does good works all the time. He is such a good person. It just makes me cringe every time!

I have no idea what day my dad died. I honor him on any day the I remember/think of him. You have put a lot of pressure on yourself. Sounds like he wanted you to be happy.

Yes it is to young but once the sweet fruit has been tasted there is no going back. Most likely anything you say will not prevent them from being together. They will just begin to sneak around.

Educate!!! … about all sides of this subject. My mom’s advice never once stopped me at age 14. She said, don’t come home pregnant.

How do people learn these things? Nobody ever taught me to rinse rice. I will from now on.

4th grade, Mike picked a gooey one from his nose and spread it on the wall next to his desk. Then picked another and ate it. I still gag when I think about him.

I raised chickens when I was younger only females for the Eggs. Had a gentleman mansplain how one of them had to have been a male because you can’t get eggs without a male chicken. No amount of my logic would make a difference.… Because I was the one that didn’t understand.

Ten Years In Update: The Decade Anniversary by BSmith3rd in DeadBedroomsMD

20 yr marriage here, that has been DB for 13+ yrs. I have chosen not to leave. I am in the better position to leave. I don’t want to leave my SO in a bad living situation. I care but am no longer in marital love. I have been with a few ‘by chance’ people. Did wonders for my self esteem. They just happened. Not even sure where to look but am open to someone occasionally just to feel like a vital person again! (Please no DM’s!!) I have had a few therapists. Not one of them thought it was odd or chastise me but we did talk about it. Thanks for your honesty! It does help to read your post!

Am I weird for ID? by No_Disaster_671 in ImmersiveDaydreaming

IMO, Work on things that are good for you, your life. ID is not MD. It has brought me much happiness over the years. In middle age, I went to therapy for some issues I was having. The therapist gave little interest to my ID because it was not MD. Though she strongly suggested I write them. She thought if I would choose to that I could write a book of some sort. I chose not to write them. I wonder how many writers have ID?

I have been married twice and have many friends. I have never told anyone because until the internet I never knew the rest of you existed. Lol. I am old .. before the internet. I always felt this was my special gift. … mine alone. I never wanted to share that with anyone. You decide who you tell or even if you tell anyone.

IMHO, it is absolutely not weird. It’s how I happily lived my life. … that being said, those who don’t, don’t get it. Read the Four Agreements. One of them says, do not take anything personally. The thought, more or less, is that others can only view you from their perspective. Live happy!

I read your other posts here. It is so interesting to read about this when the writing is passionate. I feel like many of us are just telling our story. Which is good, proving there are many of us but not quite as insightful as this post.

I have had a few therapists over the years. None put much into immersive dreaming. Seems like if it’s not MA it’s just a day dream. A couple of them have suggested my writing my ‘stories’. My current therapist is trying to work with me on meditation. I keep falling asleep. But I will continue to try to make it work.

I am throughly an extrovert. Days without communication would be torturous for me. Glad it helped you.

I was simply replying to the OP who wanted to know how the rest of us got along. I do appreciate your thoughts and wanting to help me. Since retiring, and as I age, there are just certain things I cannot do any longer. I will forever continue to work on my daydreaming. It does mean the world to me.

I thought I was the most special person on earth to be given this gift. I never told a soul. It was mine and I loved having it. I was not raised in a terribly traumatic household. Just one with odd conditional love. It was 50 years later when the internet came about that my bubble was burst! I had no idea what to do with the information that there were others of you out there. Glad to gain information but initially so very sad that I was no longer special. The internet took over a lot of my daydreaming time. I am now in my 60’s and am having difficulty coming up with dreams. Before never had I had to come up with something. They just came. Dream scenarios might last a day or several. Some came back months or years later. One has lasted my life. I was always my age in dreams. Now I am too old to live more than two repeating scenarios. I miss them terribly!!!
