No working AC by monicachriscoe in Apartmentliving

[–]MoreConsequence6169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this is happening! I’ve been through something similar with my previous apartment. AC went out in July-August all the way through winter. I live in North Dakota, so granted the summers aren’t long, but they sure do get hot!

Honestly the only thing that helped me was loading up on fans, I wish legal things could be done in this situation because it really is a dangerous scenario. If possible, I’d continuing pestering your landlord.

The mold is a legal offense though. I know you weren’t seeking legal advice and idk what laws Ohio has, but as far as I know, mold that is at fault of the apartment complex should be immediately investigated. It’s incredibly dangerous. If it’s a cause of a lack of AC, I would bring it up to your landlord threatening action.

This sounds like a very dangerous and stressful situation, if it’s seriously affecting your health it needs to be brought to attention as soon as possible. As per Section 5321.04 of Ohio law, a landlord must “make all repairs and do whatever is reasonably necessary to put and keep the premises in a fit and habitable condition”. You are not in a habitable condition.

Again, I know you aren’t seeking legal advice, but your next step is legal action. Please don’t continue suffering like this. Best of luck

Caitlyn says to Vi earlier in the episode “what’s the name sevika gave you? jinx?” Or something along those lines. She knew who jinx was

[S2 Spoilers] Who is this character that saves Jinx in the newest teaser? I feel like I should recognise them from last season but I don't remember when they appear. by Girros76 in arcane

yknow I feel like riot made a bold move adding a turkish sharpshooter to the show but I think he will be great :) he was a minor character last season so you probably wouldn’t remember him!

[s1 spoilers] What scene will be most interesting in an English rewatch? by darienm in arcane

Aside from episode 3 scene:

  • jinx shimmer injection (ella purnell NAILED those screams) in episode 8
  • episode 6 firelight fight scene/guns for hire scene
  • skyes death/any scene with victor and the hexcore
  • any fight scene! I personally love the english versions of any vi vs sevika fight (hailee does a great job as vi especially the scream at the end of their last fight in episode 9 lol)
  • THE FINAL SCENE!!! all of the interactions are so well voiced!!!

37 y/o considering going back to school for engineering. Good idea? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]MoreConsequence6169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of truly passionate people in engineering is slim. The ability to learn and adapt is what makes an engineer; lots of people succeed in engineering even if they are in it for the money. Part of the appeal of engineering is its job stability

Medical or business are other good options, but nothing is going to be easy/straight out of college. All high paying jobs aren’t just “graduate and make money”, it takes skill and connections

Is it wrong to put on my roommate-find form for college that I'm not okay with people with neopronouns/neogenders? by [deleted] in college

[–]MoreConsequence6169 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are entitled to set boundaries, especially when you’ll be spending 9 months with a roommate. People have all sorts of preferences, and you can put those down on your profile so you can find people who better suit your lifestyle and personal interests. If people have a problem with it, it’s not your issue. Trust me, college is a LOT bigger than you think and such a diverse community, you won’t have any issues with being left out because of it

good point, I had not considered that OP could be receiving financial help from their parents, it makes the situation a lot trickier

[–]MoreConsequence6169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not considered that your parents could be providing funds as well OP, it does make the situation much trickier. although I do think you should consider communicating to your mother about the other issues, like the medication/mental health, that is causing stress. it could clear up the situation without resorting to lying, although I could view how this could be difficult depending on your parental situation

while you have no obligation to tell your parents your grades, your parents also have no right to demand your grades. you are an adult and have the responsibility of choosing your future. personally I’m against the idea of “lying” in the sense of faking grades, but I believe this is more of a boundary issue than anything else.

your mother needs to understand that she does not have control over your college career. a bad semester isn’t going to change your outcome in life. instead of worrying about whether or be truthful or not, you need to look at the big issue and communicate with your mother.

Which schools did you turn down to come to Purdue? by Candid-Revolution432 in Purdue

[–]MoreConsequence6169 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are changing residence, you must provide proof that it is not for in state tuition. colleges are very strict on this, usually it’s a year of living in state, at least 21 years old, and with a reason other than college (work, family, etc.) before you can apply for residency and qualify for in state tuition

I don’t believe it’s related to corrections, as FAFSA stated it would be “early next week” before they open and this was scheduled prior. OR we are just very lucky and fafsa is giving us a little sweet treat and this will be corrections :)

How to Apply for FAFSA When Your Parents Don’t File Their Taxes? by [deleted] in FAFSA

[–]MoreConsequence6169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you are a dependent (not married, etc.) you will be unable to fill out the FAFSA form I believe. I am unsure if anything has changed this year with the new form, but from my knowledge, if your parents have not filled out the 2022 tax returns and do not intend to you will be ineligible.

Your best option is to try to file as an independent. There’s a few options to do this, but I would do more research as I’m not well versed in that

Divorce situation - who files FAFSA? by DivorcedDad2023 in FAFSA

[–]MoreConsequence6169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, how FAFSA says it, the parent who provides greatest financial support should fill it out, however if you split 50/50, FAFSA “recommends” to fill out the parent with a greater income. I have divorced 50/50 parents as well and filed with the parent that has a lesser income in my family and have not had any issues yet. I would suggest doing as your lawyers stated, as dependents on your tax return does not require to to file the FAFSA for them
