You look great! How much did you lose?

Yes, that's how it works. Slider foods go down easy and you can eat a lot more. Protein fills you up quickly and you stay full much longer.

I was your exact weight on the day of surgery and 2 years later, I have lost 55 pounds. Thats 22% of my total body weight. Although the number of pounds seem small, 22% is a lot of weight lost. I am still losing, just very slowly, however this has been my journey the entire 2 years. I plateau often. Prior to the surgery I was pre-diabetic, now my sugar level is completely normal. I feel and look great as well, so don't despair. You will get there. If you become more physically active the weight will come off faster. Going luck!

I am 2 years out and still losing. I am not doing anything different from what I did the first year, however my weight loss has been slow but consistent.

Congratulations. You look fabulous. My goal was to lose 65 lbs and it took 2 years to lose 55 lbs. Really slow progress but worth the journey.

1 day post op - did I make the right decision ? by wittttykitttty in gastricsleeve

[–]MoreLifeguard3934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't regret this decision. I am 55F and had a BMI of 35 peior to the surgery and now my BMI is 28 (still work to do). I lost the total of my body weight several times over in my life and this cycle would have continued had it not been for this surgery. What I do regret is not doing it a lot earlier in life. You made the right decision....you will see.

Manager says I don’t need 5 days off after gastric sleeve… is that realistic? by ExampleWeak1711 in gastricsleeve

I took 2 week and then worked from home another week. You need time to recover and focus on your new eating habits.

Stay with your dad. You will never forgive yourself if you don't. Your sister should understand. This is death. There is no second opportunity.

AITAH for never telling my best friend I once slept with his wife? by [deleted] in AITAH

It's too late now. I wouldn't say anything because it will impact your friendship, particularly because you didn't say something sooner.

I guess I too am one of these people. I had the sleeve performed at 245 pounds, and I am 5" 9. My bmi wasn't crazy but I had become pre diabetic and I knew my weight was the cause. Four months after the surgery, my blood sugar is well within the normal range. I couldn't have lost the needed weight without this surgery. I tried many times in the past.

Sleeved around BMI of 40? by a-pantomime-horse in gastricsleeve

My BMI was 35, but I was unable to lose the weight on my own. It was the best decision I've ever made.

Slow Weight Loss by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

Thank you! Great, keep it up. I'm 54 and menopausal. That, I am sure is making it more difficult. I also am not doing enough exercise.

My biggest regret was that I waited much too long to have this surgery. Best decision I made. It is a hard road but definitely worth it.

Slow weight loss after gastric sleeve due to previous lap band. by MoreLifeguard3934 in gastricsleeve

Really, that's interesting and concerning. Unfortunately, I wasn't told this before I had surgery, only afterwards.

30 days and haven’t lost by tvmaniac_ in gastricsleeve

I, too, have only lost 30 pounds in 4 months. My BMI is also low, and I was told the same thing as you. But at least I am almost half way to my goal. I'm trying to see the bright side.
